I went to that too! Seeing Ministry in the daylight was amazing. I crowd-surfed to Pitchshifter too, haha, those were the days. And I was one of about 40-50 people watching QOTSA at 1pm in the afternoon. First band I ever saw live that I bought their album based on how they played, when back then I knew nothing about them.

Probably get shot down here, but I'd like to see Ben Harper and Liam Finn on the bill and maybe a couple of others as well.

The day I went was Biffy, Death Cab, Tame Impala and Bob Mould DJ-ing, Alice Cooper and Roger Taylor were guests.
Think the Sunday had Biffy, Jimmy Eat World, The Hot Rats, Bob Mould and the guests were Seasick Steve and John Paul Jones :)

Is there any benefit to the 10c GA for this show? Do bands usually have a section up front for their fan club, or is the 10c ticket like any other of the 60K tickets that will be sold?

They might have early access but it doesn't really matter, I can't see there being a 10c area unless they do something like at PJ20.

There might not be a 10c only area, but there definitely will be a fenced off front pit. At the Foo gig, they gave out wristbands to people who were there already (about an hour before doors), which would let you into the front pit, and you could then go out and back into it as you liked. 10c GA will probably get those wristbands + early entry.

My wishlist would be from these bands:
    Clutch
    Bad Religion
    Baroness
    Foo Fighters
    Soundgarden
    AIC
    Mark Lanegan
    Torche
    Fu Manchu
    NIN
    Vista Chino
    Sufjan Stevens
    Why?
    Yo La Tengo
    ASIWYFA
    Amplifier
    Orange Goblin

There are too many to list, some would fit perfectly, others would be a great contrast - however I'd be amazed if even one of those were on the bill....

what is the cheapest public transport from london to milton keynes?
  • Options
    redrockredrock Posts: 18,341
You can get train tickets from £5 per journey - depends on days and times and how far in advance you book. From central London (euston)
    to Milton Keynes.
There are also coaches - the cheapest I found when I was toying with the idea of taking the coach to see the Foos was a return journey for £18 (I think). This was from London Victoria to the Bowl itself.

hey redrock dont suppose you know if you can stay in car park over night ??

    redrockredrock Posts: 18,341
Don't think so, though I am not sure. I went by car for the Foos and I seem to remember that, as people were leaving (took AGES!!!), they started blocking off exits and eventually herded everyone to one exit. Didn't seem like a place they would allow to stay overnight. But again, not sure. Might want to contact the venue? Maybe they have special car parks for this?

Mastodon have been confirmed for Sonisphere - maybe Jeff will get them to play MK too!

That would be a welcome surprise!!

It took me almost 2 to leave one of the official car parks at the Milton Keyens Bowl Foo's gig there a couple of years ago - what a nightemare!!!

As a local, the best idea is to find a place to park near-by and walk to the bowl.

Cheapest way to get there is probably by us, either National Express of MegaBus...

    redrockredrock Posts: 18,341
Usually, Megabus is cheaper than National Express. If timings are good for you, a coach journey isn't bad - only about 1.5hrs (if that).
