Ok so the other day I woke up startled and the name Jimmy Caster Bunch popped in my head for no reason I could think of at the time. Oh now that I think about it I had a benefits meeting at work and saw this very fit young lady who had an unusually large tuckas.

Anyway, maybe that's why I thought of JCB who came out with this song (Bertha Butt) I once played as a DJ back, waaay back in the 70's. So here's one that cracked me up every time I used to play it.....Troglodyte

I don't know where I'm going with all this but the memories of what I used to play back in the day are overwhelming. I was 16-17 years old playing these cuts to people who have never heard these songs and they would just jam out to them. Please just give a listen to the guitar work at 2:31 and 5:37, simply amazing guitar play (Mark Adams & Danny Webster on Bass and guitar)......then just forget about those horny horns they're a lyric all to themselves.

This next one is by SLAVE and the song is Slide.....

Hmmmmm, I liked that selection by TOOL, it sounded on the heavy side the way Iike-it.

Ani's version is stripped down kind of unplugged and even better with just audio. :smiles:

Older TOOL is so perfect for that; I like how they intertwined other threads of tone and view as time has passed (as we all do, as we must). In addition to his voice, that's what I really appreciate about Maynard - that ability to create such diversity in music...APC, Puscifer, later TOOL.

To have that talent! Plus that of Danny, Justin & Adam.

Love that you dig on Ani too, g :)

Gotta know where, and I guess when, to draw the line (if there is one) - either way, Tyler & Perry fucking rocked it.

This song is about 25+ years old that I bought that came from the album Last Decade Dead Century by Warrior Soul. It only came about from a thread I started on the Other Music board called The PJ Community Top 100 Heavy Metal Albums.

The song is called The Losers....

    http://youtu.be/GaDsh0IZ020

Have you ever wanted To be someone you're not
But you look into the world And you see what you've got

There's nothin' there But brains and guts
Finally open the door And then it shuts

Look to the center And i'll think you'll find
The people that are gettin' They are blind

You changed the channel And there's nothin' there
You weren't born pretty And it isn't fair...

    Here's to the losers
    The substance abusers
    To the rejects
    All the imperfects

    Cause I think we're beatiful
    Cause I think we're beautiful
    Cause I think we're beautiful
    No matter what anyone says
    I think we're beautiful
The most beautiful in the world

You try for jobs But they say you're strange
You're sportin' a style That they call pain

So you get in trouble And your brain is gone
You're cryin' out man But the words are wrong

    Here's to the losers
    The substance abusers
    To the rejects
    All the imperfects

    Cause I think we're beautiful
    Cause I think we're beautiful
    Cause I think we're beautiful
    No matter what anyone says
    I think we're beautiful
The most beautiful in the world

I know you're tierd Of being put down
And all the crap that's said in town But you're a person thatmatters most
I raise my glass, And make a toast

    Here's to the losers
    Substance abusers
    To the rejects
    All the imperfects
    To the retarded
    And the broken-hearted
    To the starving masses
    And the lower classes

    Cause I think we're beautiful
    Cause I think we're beautiful
    Cause I think we're beautiful
    No matter what anyone says
    I Think we're beautiful

I think I was drawn to the song because of my love of people, the underdogs, people without much etc. Just this morning while getting gas I saw a woman hungry and appeared homeless asking for help. I drove off but I turned around and searched to find whatever I might have.....I had $5 and drove up to her and handed it to her. She appeared to be surprised, looked at it and said thank you twice.....that's all I wanted to hear and drove off.

Not too from that spot tomorrow we will have a Mango Festival here in Lake Worth, I'll be there and to everybody have yourselves superior weekend.

Peace people cause I think we're beautiful

Oh hell, I've posted the same tunes - maybe some in different incarnations - many a time. No matter, it comes from the heart in the moment.

    Like this.

(and the beauty is that no else even needs to watch or listen or like it - just a release in sharing soul-humbling music)

    Another from this show ^^^

Events like this weekend always make me think of this song and the inspiration for it. I wish these events didn't end up becoming such commonplace.

B, for me...love (mine, anyway) is developed, felt, and expressed over time.

Incredibly valuable to me, and I am fortunate to count precious people in that circle.

Now, if we're talking basic respect for our fellow man? Down with that - how I was raised; it's a given on my part, till it's not warranted.

Reminds me of living back east for a few years and noticing how the east coast and west coast differ. Out here it's (very generally speaking) love and hugs after a short time knowing someone (friend or lover). Back there it seemed more like you needed to gain someone's respect first and it took a long time to get into someones confidence but once you did, the bond was strong.

But anyway, about the love thing and the song: There are several kinds of love like: eros (sensual), philos (brotherly), and agape (charity, caring or what some call "Godly love"). What I was vaguely hinting at is the secular kind of agape love- simple respect for other life (not just human life). This, I believe, is what we need now more than ever. And that Wire song says it perfectly for me because it has the punk edge/power combined with the idea of love. Strong love. No pussyfooting.

    Strength, power, peace, love.
