    One more point of proof that RHCP need to hang it up. Overrated, overblown, and overcommercialized. Mainstream fame has been very unfriendly to their songwriting

    unless its a blatant rip off who cares artist and musicians have been using riffs and whatnot forever...listen to early jazz and even i would say some classic stuff thats music.

    yeah, I noticed that, but never really noticed the dani california. Totally see it now. I think it is a huge coincidence...but wow! Very interesting stuff. The RHCP, I believe, every try to sound like anyone. They have always had there own beat/sound. Most of the album has this sorta vibe to it, and I think they were staying in theme, and just ended up with the same music. I believe it was unintensional. Last Dance was WAY to big for somebody to intentionally rip off and think they would get away with it.
    The only thing I enjoy is having no feelings....being numb rocks!

    If you were to strum them they are very much alike, but the arrangements make them very different. They dont even sound much alike imo. Definitely not a ripoff.

    okay, so i saw this thread and thought to myself, "no fucking way". but after hearing the clips, the comparisons are pretty damning. it isn't a blatant rip off like some are saying, RHCP have always done their own thing. Frusciante has got more integrity than to rip off another song, do u honestly think he heard it then thought that he'd copy it to make another hit single?
