My two favorite bands are Pearl Jam and the Black Crowes. What are some of your opinions on the Crowes?

Huge Crowes Fan. I saw them 5 times on this past tour.
Mr. Crowes Garden - Northhampton Mass
3/23 Hammerstein Show
Easter Sunday Hammerstein Show
Hartford with Tom Petty
9/30 Philly show.
I am debating whether or not go see them on NYE at the Garden. Amorica and Southern Harmony are my 2 favorite albums.0 -
I've been seeing the Black Crowes live since 1991. I have to say, honestly, 2005 has been one of their best touring years. For real. Of course, it helps to have Marc Ford back on stage. It's the equivilent of having Mike McCready out of PJ for 8 years, then he is back! I even like the 4th album (3 Snakes). definitley downhill after that! Although, the word is that they are recording early next year. Chance to redeem!11-2-2000 Portland. 12-8-2002 Seattle. 4-18-2003 Nashville. 5-30-2003 Vancouver. 10-25-2003 Bridge School. 9-2-2005 Vancouver.

Downhill after 3 Snakes?...I thought Lions is rockin' album. Come on, "Soul Singin'" that in itself makes the album worthwhile. But yeah, great rock n roll band, Southern Harmony is an awesome album. Glad to hear potential for a new record is out there. What?!? No, We can't stop here, this is bat country.0

Three Snakes is OK, but 'OK' is still downhill from amazing albums such as Shake Your Money Maker, Southern Harmony, and Amorica. I want an album like those three.I've faced it, a life wasted, and I'm never going back again.

Love the Crowes, certified gear nuts. This past tour was excellent. My Girlfriend said to me..."How many guitars do you need?" and I replied...."How many pairs of shoes do you need?" She got really quiet.0 -

I also want another great album by the Crowes. We'll see what they come up with in 2006!11-2-2000 Portland. 12-8-2002 Seattle. 4-18-2003 Nashville. 5-30-2003 Vancouver. 10-25-2003 Bridge School. 9-2-2005 Vancouver.

Amorica and Southern Harmony are masterpices. 3 snakes and by your side have some really good songs - Good Friday, Girl from a Pawn Shop, Go Faster, etc.
Had front row seats in Ashville in front of Marc Ford - awesome. Before the concert, my buddy pre-purchased a recording of the concert. He got it about 20 minutes after the concert - awesome sound quality.
Also saw them in a small venue in Raleigh (the Disco Rodeo). Got the setlist. My wife and I spoke to the new drummer after the show for about ten minutes and I got the impression from him that the Robinsons weren't especially pleased with his drumming. I think Steve Gorman is a pretty hard act to follow. Gorman did some seriously good drum rolls on Southern Harmony. The new drummer also told us that Gorman had invested wisely in the stock market and hit it big and wasn't interested in touring.
Wish I could have seen them another 5 to 10 times. Hope they tour in 06 but I think they played over a hundred shows in 05. Like PJ, the setlist varies greatly. If I had the money, I would love to see them in NYC New Year's Eve.
I find it amusing that through the years, music critics have dubbed Aerosmith as the American version of the Rolling Stones. I like Aerosmith (especially old Aerosmith - Get Your Wings, Rocks, Toys in the Attic) but there are so many Black Crowes tunes that would fit in, on say - Exile on Main Street, Let It Bleed, Sticky Fingers, Beggars Banquet, etc.
I would really like to see PJ, Tool and the Black Crowes as often as possible in 06.

I'm a big Crowes fan. Southern Harmony is fucking brilliant. To concur with someone else, that album does conatin some of the best guitar and bass tones ever.
By Your Side was kind of weak, compared to what they can do. . . even though "Horse Head" is a fucking monster of a song.
But how can a Crowes fan not dig on Lions? I love that album! "Midnight from the Inside Out," "Soul Singing," "Greasy Grass River." All awesome songs.Sleep on horseback
