Do CoF and Satyricon really count as Gothic-Rock or Darkwave? You're thinking of Black Metal MAN."Feel it rising, yeah next stop falling!"

I don't know if they count as Gothic (I'm pretty sure though), but Siouxsie and the Banshees are another good band to go with as far as Gothic rock goes.0
-
Joy Division, Skinny Puppy, Sisters Of Mercy
I don't listen to any of them but I have heard the names thrown about a lot.printf("shiver in eternal darkness\n");0 -

Ok, if you want some Gothic bands check:
Lacrimosa, I'd recommend the "Elodia" and "Echoes" album
Theatre of tragedy, especially "Velvet darkness they fear" and "Aegis"
London after midnight, check "Selected scenes from the end of the world"
Bauhaus, pretty much anything like someone else said.
The Shroud, check the "In the garden" CD.
Don't be confused with bands like evanescence, lacuna coil, etc... they are NOT gothic-darkwave. They are more nü metal than anything. You will notice that most gothic bands aren't even that heavy. Sure, they have distorted guitars and some grunts, but most of the time the melodies are calm, the lyrics dark and the music flows slowly.Mexico City - July 17th 2003
