David Usher

Just wondering if anyone listens to him. I mostly knew him from his days with Moist, which had some amazing songs, and then some of the solo stuff he did which I always thought was alright. Well, I picked up his last album Strange Birds, and after a few listens it's grown on me. He's a good lyricist, catching the mood of everyday life, and the music's good too. His new one, Wake Up and Say Goodbye, builds on the last one. Anyone a fan?

I did listen to a lot when i was younger, in the Moist Days. I knew he went solo but didn;t realize he was still putting out new stuff.

David Usher is an amazing singer/songwriter. Moist was great. But solo hes even better. His new album wake up and say goodbye is brillant. He is one of Canadas best. Morning Orbit is a classic album.

why is it that we have so many great artists up here that no one else really knows about. I urge everyone to go to youtube and listen to some David Usher, or Matthew Good, Default. It's not all like knickleback.

Yea he's ok if you like that kind of thing. He should quit acting and stick to music. Did you ever see that movie 'In the Mix', he was terrible in that. Oh, and never realized his first name was David.

I'm also a longtime fan, starting with Moist. I have a pretty extensive collection of Moist and David's solo stuff...my only issue with the solo material is that at times it's too "soft" for me. But I tend to give him a pass on those tunes since he writes so many great songs! Just waiting for the new album to arrive...

Just found a compilation of Moist and David Usher solo material I'd made awhile back...I think this was shortly before his last album...but in my humble opinion, if you check out these songs, you'll enjoy David Usher quite a bit:

    St. Lawrence River
    Devil by My Side
    How Are You (English Version)
    Low Low Low my fav
    Liberation
    I'm Coming Down
    Silver
    Hey Kids
    Jesus Was My Girl
    Place
    Long Goodbye
    Message Home
    Time of Our Lives
    Tomorrow Comes
    My Way Out (Live)
    Hate
    Into Everything
    Machine Punch Through
    Disco Days
    Morphine

These didn't make the comp due to time, but I'd check these too:
    Comes and Goes
    Push
    Tonight

And of course the Strange Birds album and now the new one...
