since ive spent so much time here lately defending another band that was unfairly judged by music it produced as mere teenagers... why not go the full nine and mention hanson?

im going to see them with my girlfriend soon. i signed on as a favor, but recently she picked up a live album of theirs that i listened to... and these guys can fucking jam! this is one of the grooviest live albums i've heard this side of the black fucking crowes!

i've also heard their new album and it's a far cry from the bubblegum pop that was mmbop... it's kinda unfair really. if not for that one single, these guys would probably be serious rock and roll stars. they've got a great, loose bluesy sound and great vocal harmonies. it's a shame nobody was willing to even play their album after that song. im willing to bet if you played this to any of your friends blind, they'd dig it.

ok... if yuo edited out the screaming girls in the background too, hehe. but im reasonably sure those fans have grown up or moved on.

so now im pretty stoked about seeing them.

I always thought they had a lot of talent but I would probably be hard-pressed to go see them live. and my kids would NEVER let me live that one down!! :p

    Have Fun!!
So I'll just lie down and wait for the dream

"This Time Around" is a good tune. The kids are talented. Actually, I can't really call them kids, the oldest 2 are about the same age I am. I think.

    *checks*

Yeah. 2 years older and 1 year younger.

the real question is, do you have a preteen girl outfit to wear to the hanson concert?

I don´t need the cucumber and I´ve got bigger balls than you and your three hanson lovers have all together. Get a grip on your music taste...I mean what´s next....you like the Kelly family too???

none, but the stigma around the band because of that song is enough to steer me away. call me what you will, but at least i'm not seeing hanson live.

exactly. thanks, you can move on now. im sure you were the coolest kid on your block at 14 and never in your entire life did or listened to anything of which you were embarrassed. grow a pair and stop worrying so much about how cool you look. your posing and posturing are pathetic.

wow, i didn't expect this post to be written by Soulsinging. well i guess it adds something different to your personality. Hope you enjoy their gig.

but i do understand why people wouldn't want to know anything about Hanson.

i tend to just enjoy music that's fun to rock out to. and the later hanson albums rock out :)
  • Conor, I love Hanson. Especially their newer stuff. I would love to see them live, but I just can't spend more money on anymore shows this summer. I heard they did an excellent job in Toronto though.

Their new album is good. They have what sounds like a choir in the background. And the whole album kinda has an African vibe. I am interested in seeing their documentary. I heard it is pretty good itself. Have fun at the show!
    Cock Fight.
  • No worries soulsinging, I have always that that the keyboard player hd more soul in his music then any major band. I heard a mp3 of Hanson covering a Radiohead and I was very impressed.

finally saw them last night. i haven't seen a band jam like that since the black crowes. i fucking hate lenny kravitz, but they managed to toss in an 8 minute cover of 'let love rule' complete with bass solos and dueling guitars and it was excellent. those guys can sing too... very soulful vocals and great harmonies. the floor of the house of blues was literally bouncing.
