Frank Black is playin Lancaster in August.
Will be going....
anyone have any info on what his solo shows are like?
I think this is coming right off a Pixies tour in Europe.

right now, he is touring w/the Foo Fighters on their acoustic tour.:) Too bad I missed them in Berkeley:( FB solo is AWESOME, SO much different than the Pixies. I like that! And i LOVE the Pixies as well:D

Pistolero is a GREAT album!

well stone prefers his solo work if that tells you anything. teenager of the year is a really cool record to check out as well.

I'd have to agree that yeah, overall, Frank Black and the Catholics are probably better than the Pixies. the song "End of Miles" has one of the nastiest guitar solos I've ever heard. that entire album ("Black Letter Days") is a classic, as is "Pistolero". I think some of his older albums (like "Teenager")are more closely related to his work in the Pixies, but those two albums ("Black Letter Days" and "Pistolero") are 2 of my alltime favorites.

actually he is opening for the foo's and on their off nights he's playing little solo gigs. fast man/ raider man is an awesome cd way better than honeycomb and honeycomb was great. nothing beats black letter days though, the best thing he has ever done, better than the pixies. got my ticket for the chameleon today. last time he came around i wasnt 21 so i missed him. i cant wait.

i got GA also cause the term seats sounded bad to me. I've never been to the chameleon before oddly enough.

Three levels really.
small bar and stage on the ground floor.
main stage and bar on the second
with a balcony on the third for under 21.

Saw Horton Heat and the Supersuckers there last winter. I mean, you can get rightt up front row if you push a little bit.
this sounds like there might be chairs on the floor though somewhere. I don't know, it's pretty tiny, so we'll see about that.

only for illegal fireworks but i didnt even go this year. im willing to bet there isnt even a single bootleg copy of any frank black there. it really is like an amish china town. boy do i hate that place. screws up traffic all the time. i use to have to drive past it to get to work, that sucked.

more a curfew thing than anything, I would think, but should be a good, long show.

i cant wait. saw the pixies the other year and it was so-so. cant wait to see frank solo. wish i would have seen the catholics but this should be a great show none the less.
