I'm gonna straight up admit it, I am a huge fan of a lot of bands that many people consider to be "posers of industrial", Rob Zombie, NIN, Rammstein, etc, etc...and of course Marilyn Manson. I'm not sure why but Ive always been a HUGE fan of his music [my personal fav song being "Tourniquet"]. Just curious, are there an MM fans here?!

I'm not a fan of Manson by any means, but I don't hate him either, so I guess I'm indifferent to his music.

Why do they hate it? Do they feel it is too commercial or pop sounding? This is one of the heaviest CD I have ever heard. Favorite songs, Reise, Reise; Mein Tell, Keine Lust, Amerika (pretty much my favorite track), Morgenstern. In fact, the only track I don't like too much is Dalai Lama. The pieces are gigantic in scope. That is, they have a very symphonic quality, yet they Rock! Guitar sounds are fantastic. They also are very deft at mixing the heavy guitars with the lighter synth sounds. The songs are all really well constructed. God, what is there not to like about this CD!. I am with you. I think this is one of the best CDs they ever made.

I like Manson's music, but I don't believe the whole "act". If I don't have to look at him he is a pretty talented rocker.....but lets face some/most of the time he looks ridiculous.

I love Sehnsucht too, but Reise, Reise is miles above it. I am going to listen to it all day tomorrow just to spite people who dis it.

what he doesn't know is that he doesn't need that "shock" gimmick anymore....he's a pretty talented, credible song writer. I'll continue to listen to his music...but not watch his video, or see him live.

Cool :D also quite ironically my least fav Rammstein album has my fav Rammstein song on it "Mein Herz Brent"

"Mutter" is my least fav because the first three songs are AWESOME!!! But the rest is utter crap, ruins the whole experience for me

Not really a fan, but I liked his contribution to the Spawn (1997) soundtrack:

  • Manson is one of my favourites. Seeing him live is a great experience. In fact I think it is hard to understand how good he and his band are until you see them live. Always a great show, very theatrical. My favourite of his albums is Antichrist Superstar followed closely by Mechanical Animals.
