Don't care much for his freak show act of recent decades, but in the mid 90's opening for NIN I was amazed at how great live he was (minus jerking off on a dildo onstage).  I remember leaving Ball State thinks damn they were a great opening act.  Sweet dreams was the last I really paid attention.

I saw him only a few years ago and it was very, very far away from being something you could call a freak show act. It was actually a pretty damn normal show.
With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world. Be careful. Strive to be happy. ~ Desiderata
  • Seen him a few times.  In ‘97 people were throwing around road kill in the pit, it was fuckin disgusting.
I'm like an opening band for your mom.

Though never really a fan, I've always defended this dudes right to be weird.  Innocent until proven guilty, but if this is proven to be true, there is no reason to defend.  None at all.

Evan Rachel Wood and four other women accuse Marilyn Manson of abuse

Manson has not commented on allegations on Instagram, that follow Wood’s testimonies in 2018 and 2019 against an unnamed abuser

“The fear of death follows from the fear of life. A man [or woman] who lives fully is prepared to die at any time.”
Variously credited to Mark Twain or Edward Abbey.

Yep.  Unfortunately this sounds like classic Predatory/grooming patterns seen in countless sex offenders and serial abusers.  I'm  proud of these women for telling their story.  Hopefully it empowers more abused and oppressed women and girls to speak up.

I hope so as well.  I hate hearing about this kind of thing and can't image what it's like.  Happens far too often.

Always believed he was a friendly geek, being gifted (Mechanical Animals is a top 5 album of the 90s) fooling the world and rebellious teens with his persona.

Maybe when society stops holding up celebrities devoid of morals and living in a different reality than normal people as role models, we might make some progess.
