rekindled interest in Wu-Tang Clan

Over the last month, I've been listening to Wu-Tang Clan, Method Man, O.D.B., Raekwon the Chef, Genius/GZA, and so on. Of all rap/hip-hop acts, Wu-Tang Clan are one of my favorites. Even though Pearl Jam's my favorite band, it's good to take a bit of a rest from rock and roll all time; to listen to and enjoy other forms of music. What other groups do people like besides Pearl Jam? Other genres of music?

anyway, the Wu are awesome (or were... their last few albums aren't on the same level as the 36 chambers and the first round of solo albums. Liquid Swords by the Genius/GZA, Only built 4 cuban linx by Raekwon the chef and Ironman by Ghostface Killah are amazing.

Iron Flag by Wu-Tang's pretty good. There's one song, "Uzi (Pinky Ring)," which is worth listening to. Also, on the Legend of the Wu-Tang (greatest hits), they did an old Run DMC hit, "Sucker M.C.'s11/6/95, 11/18/97, 7/13/98, 7/14/98, 10/24/00, 10/25/00, 10/28/00, 6/2/03, 6/3/03, 6/5/03, 7/6/06, 7/7/06, 7/9/06, 7/10/06, 7/13/06, 7/15/06, 7/16/06, 7/18/06, 10/21/06, 4/10/08, 4/13/08, 9/30/09, 10/1/09, 10/6/09, 10/7/09, 10/9/090

"Shorty don't even need to go to summer school, just pick up the Wu-tang double CD, thats all the Education you need"
I laugh everytime I hear that. I love the Forever double CD, now thats some great shit. All the new rap I hear is fucking horrible, they just repeat the same verse over and over again.....fucking stupid.BRING BACK THE WHALE0 -
Enter The Wu-Tang - 36 Chambers is their best album in my opinion.
I used to listen to hip-hop and then I discovered rock. But now I love getting out my old cd's again and put them on again. Gang Starr, Tupac, MOP, Run DMC...
I also love Bob Marley and listen to him quite often. If you like reggae and hip hop you should get Chant Down Babylon, a remix album.
I enjoy folk songs and soul too and oldies.THANK YOU, LOSTDAWG!

The Wu is like PJ for me in hip hop. Been listening to them since day 1 and they remain true esp. to the fans. I saw them at the Hammerstein in NY last yr and they rocked it! Meth stage dove into us over and over right from his intro to the M.E.T.H.O.D. song! I grew out of a lot of the new hip hop cause its garbage but the old school shit like Rakim and nas Gangstarr, etc, is still hot.Aah, fuck it, I’m just gonna go home, turn on the fuckin’ TV...

i saw wu-tang on the '96 lolla tour. really confusing set. i can't remember the exact number, but there were at least 15 guys walking around on the stage, all but 2 had microphones, all rapping/singing at the same time. the 2 that didn't have mic's had cardboard boxes and were throwing things into the crowd. i caught one and found out it was a cassette single of one of their songs. i threw it back onto the stage.
i'll listen to just about anything. rock, rap, country, bluegrass, classical, oldies, big band, hell i even dig marching band music. what i'm really into now (for the past 7 years) is the jam band scene. i dig some phish, GD, SCI, some DMB, robert randolph....but my absolute favorite band is moe. love the shit out of them and catch them anytime they're around. i've seen 'em 44 times since labor day weekend '00. will be seeing show #45 this friday in hyannis, ma. can't friggin' wait."PC Load Letter?! What the fuck does that mean?"
