From the main page all I could read was "Why Radiohead won't play..." and I knew the rest of that would be Detroit. I was at their last gig back at the State Theatre and I always believed it was because that crowd was so shit. The reason citied by the article makes sense for this tour, now eleven years later, but I do think Thom was fucked off by the attitude of the crowd that night. My Pearl Jam Photos

That was a good read.
Viva la Thunderbird Stadium. Free drinking water, too.0 -
interesting. Although this tour has made me feel 100x better about living in Cleveland. Cleveland has become the cock-rock capitol of the world, where shitty music comes to prosper; However! Radiohead at Blossom sold out the seats in about 3 minutes (probably in large part to Detroit fans aswell). It makes me feel good that, Maroon5, and the Honda Civic Tour are not sold out..but Radiohead is. I love that.0

Thom is fucked off by every little thing. Does anybody really care what he thinks anymore? He's an arrogant twat that, if I saw him in the street, I would punch him in the face and then thank him for the awesome music. It really is too bad that they are so good because I would like nothing more than to ignore them entirely.1/12/1879, 4/8/1156, 2/6/1977, who gives a shit, ...0 -
I heard it was because they disapprove OCP running the cops....
(for those that don't know that's a robocop reference-which takes place in detroit.)0 -

I can't really argue with any of that about Thom. The rest of the guys are/seem alright though. My Pearl Jam Photos

is it really awesome? do you really care that much about something like that? i guess you do.
at least the last time they were there Ed voiced his disgust with all the ads and it was pretty damn funny...
Esther's here and she's sick?
hi Esther, now we are all going to be sick, thanks0 -
I think it's interesting...the corporate sponser thing has been getting a little out of hand over the years at venues. At local hockey games, it's not just a "power play" anymore, it's a "BURGER KING power play." Highly annoying when ticket prices aren't exactly inching down.0

When I lived in Columbus and went to Blue Jackets game, the crowd received free chili at any Columbus Wendy's the following day if the Blue Jackets scored at least 3 goals. So if the Blue Jackets scored 2 goals the crowd would start chanting, "Chili!Chili!Chili!" That was about four years ago, so I don't know if they still do that.0 -
Thom announced that they will never play again in Detroit..
here are some theories about Radiohead - Detroit IssueMy choice for Radiohead News is InRadiobows.com0 -

they do that at Cavs games when they score 100 points everyone gets a free chalupa from Taco Bell. Everyone chants CHA-LU-PA CHA-LU-PA...but even if they hit 100, I don't think anyone actually goes and gets a free chalupa
However, by them having the venues covering the corperate signs, wouldn't the venue have to pay back the sponser for that given night by giving them like a one night refund? I mean if ATT pays to have their sign up in front of the crowd, and Radiohead asks them to cover it, wouldn't ATT be due some compensation? I ask this because the money must come from the band you would think. Radiohead's premium tickets here in Cleveland are $50, still about $25 cheaper than Pearl Jam this year even with all of that. Just makes you think0 -
Radiohead is VERY particular about the venues they play. Take a look at the tour itenerary for the past few tours. They ALWAYS play at Blossom Music Center in Cleveland. I've seen them there 2X, and they allegedy have requested to play there on each tour because the love the acoustics. They place was built for the Cleveland Symphony, so the acoustics are great!8/22/98 - Toronto
8/26/98 - Cleveland
10/7/00 - Detroit
4/25/03 - Cleveland
6/23/06 - Pittsburgh0 -

It's also in a state park which fits their bill. I live in the same state park like 4 minutes from Blossom, though I never see shows there because it's normally a bunch of garbage that comes there. I'll be there on the 4th though0 -
I thought the reason Radiohead won't play Detroit was because of Matt Millen?08/28/98-09/01/00-12/08/02-12/09/02-04/28/03-05/03/03-07/05/03-07/06/03-07/08/03-07/09/03-07/12/03-10/01/04-10/03/05-05/13/06-05/27/06-05/28/06-06/01/06-06/03/06-06/19/08-06/25/08-10/28/09-10/31/09-05/17/10-10/19/13-10/21/13-10/27/13-4/28/16-09/11/22-09/07/240
