what was the attendence for Lollapalooza 07? I thought I heard that the sunday single day tickets where sold out for Pearl Jam.... being in the middle of that crowd (roughly a football field length away from the stage) and looking behind me all I could see was thousands upon thousands of people stretching back as far as the Grant Park Fountain.
Does anyone actually know what the attendance was for Lolla?cook'em just to see the look on there face0 -

if ur talkin about Australia, usually they play to arena's with 15K to 20000, the 2 biggest shows they played here were in 95
32000 to 40000 at eastern creek raceway Sydney
30000 at Sidney Mryer Music Bowl Melbourne
what bout the 2 shows at Randalls Island 96, 30K for each show.0 -
I created a post about this a while back: http://forums.pearljam.com/showthread.php?t=269207
As for Lolla, most people there seem to agree that Lolla takes the crown with estimates of 100,000 or more, though officially Billboard reported the attendance for the weekend at 168,729 (56,243 each day if you divide by 3) from a 200,000 (66,666) capacity with no days sold out. Another Billboard an article from earlier this year (when Radiohead played?) stated "For the first time since its reinvention as a destination festival in 2005, a single day of Lollapalooza sold out at 75,000 tickets. Tickets are also gone for today but remain for Sunday." So seems must've been slightly less for Pearl Jam in 07.
I guess we may never no but it can't hurt to speculate. So here's some other notable big attendances.
27/8/06 Reading Festival, England - 75,000*
25/8/06 Leeds Festival, England - 70,000*
11/7/95 Soldier Field, Chicago - 70,000 (though figures range to as low as 47,000)
14/6/98 RFK Stadium, Washington DC (TFC) 66,000
18/8/93 CNE Stadium, Toronto, (w/Neil Young) - 60,000
8/6/92 & 12/6/92 Pinkpop Festival, Holland - 60,000
5/8/95 Golden Gate Park, San Francisco 53,440
1993 Verona (Supporting U2) 45,000
1993 Rome (Supporting U2) 42,000
2005 Sau Paulo, Brazil 40,006 x 2 nights
Other notable mentions are Rock Am Ring and Roskilde festivals which are 2 of Europe's largest festivals 150,000+ over the weekend and Werchter too in Belguim though I'm not sure of the exact capacity for it. Eastern Creek Raceway in Sydney, Australia in 1995 was also a large one though no capacity is known, G'N'R played to 71,000 a few years pervious.
*Reading & Leeds figures confirmed by the festival, 60,000 each day weekend tix + 15,000 day tix for Reading, 10,000 for Leeds)My PJ shows:
