Neither one of us had done anything like that you see
By the next sunset, I had eloped with Marilee, by the next sunset I had eloped with Marilee, BY THE NEXT SUNSET, I HAD ELOPED WITH MARILEE...
(sweet motherfucking song)
I concur.

I'll finally get a chance just to see what all the fuss is about over Drive-by Truckers @ Langerado.

We are going to their headlining gig the night before too... can't wait for that weekend. The Man has a branch office in each of our brains, his corporate emblem is a white albatross, each local rep has a cover known as the Ego, and their mission in this world is Bad Shit.0 -

If you head over to http://www.blessingandacurse.com they've put up some links to various podcasts featuring the band, and some of the new tracks."You're no help," he told the lime. This was unfair. It was only a lime; there was nothing special about it at all. It was doing the best it could.

A DBT-related item: I finally watched the movie CHRYSTAL today, written and directed by Ray McKinnon, starring Billy Bob Thornton and Lisa Blount.
Excellent film featuring a couple of DBT tunes. DBT has been a big supporter of Ray McKinnon's films.
Chrystal isn't for you if you like big, hollywood films - it's a character driven film that is wonderfully executed. Not fast paced, just a good character film - the type of film I'd like to make someday...0 -
I really hope these guys tour Canada for this album. It's been a while since they last visited, and even then I think they only played Toronto and Montreal. I think a nice full-scale Canadian tour would be amazing. I've become a huge fan of this band over the past year and unfortunately the closest I've been to a live DBT show is their DVD. I NEED to see these guys live...and soon."I try my best to chug, stomp, weep, whisper, moan, wheeze, scat, blurt, rage, whine, and seduce. With my voice I can sound like a girl, the boogieman, a Theremin, a cherry bomb, a clown, a doctor, a murderer. I can be tribal. Ironic. Or disturbed. My voice is really my instrument."

I will be seeing them down here in FLA in a few weeks... Once headlining and the next day at a festival thing.
I am interested in seeing how much they are playing from the new record. The Man has a branch office in each of our brains, his corporate emblem is a white albatross, each local rep has a cover known as the Ego, and their mission in this world is Bad Shit.0 -

Haven't heard of them either. When I saw the Truckers last year in St. Petersburg, the opening band was 5 kids from Miami. And when I say kids I mean they were all 16 or younger. They kind of sounded like some kind of unholy Queensryche/GnR mashup. But really weren't that bad. They even had one of them come out and play guitar on Buttholeville, and he did a damn good job.The Man has a branch office in each of our brains, his corporate emblem is a white albatross, each local rep has a cover known as the Ego, and their mission in this world is Bad Shit.0 -
I sampled a few of their tracks on MySpace... the singer's voice and the music don't match... wanted to like it.... but didn't (that's not to say the singer had a bad voice...his voice was good...but it and the music didn't sound right together... a lesser Black Crowes sound...)0

I didn't even think to check out Myspace...thanks for the heads-up.
Are you staying in Nashville on Saturday night? I'm leaving Paducah around 10:00 and meeting up with my friends around noon.
