Riot_Mac wrote:KOL has been this way since Aha Shake Heartbreak came out. Kind of have a cooler than you thing going. They also try to look all sexy. I try to just pay attention to the music and not them as people. Their fans are the same. Check out their message board. It is more about how cool or good looking they are than the music.
i think they have always had a marketed look all the way back to their first album............
the music rocks...........vocals are great.........but i wish they would continue maturing on the lyrics / hype thing.0 -

I like KoL for their music, not their videos.
Hell, I don't think I've eevn seen one of their videos.
I know they're not the most ground breaking or original band. But I think they're good and I like 'em.
When I stop liking them, I'll stop listening. But videos? Not gonna change my mind.Cymru Am Byth

not music videos we're talking about dude.. did you even read any of this thread?
they have been releasing HOME video footage of them making the new album... a short segment every day has been released.
we're not discussing cinematography of The Bucketoh scary... 40000 morbidly obese christians wearing fanny packs invading europe is probably the least scariest thing since I watched an edited version of The Care Bears movie in an extremely brightly lit cinema.0 -

Yeah, I grasped what the thread was about, but still feel the same.
That kind of thing isn't gonna sway what I feel about music.
Whilst you mention The Bucket, I stuck that on the jukebox in the pub last night. What a fucking song.
They may be shit at making home videos, but they can make pretty decent music!Cymru Am Byth

Anyhoo, I think that you should cancel your anti-KOL video moratorium...at least for today. The final video is up and obviously they saved the best for last.
It's perfect. Actually it's kind of priceless. And it completely makes up for the wasabi snorting, roof jumping, butt naked inthe studio, et al."I'm here to see Pearl Jam."- Bono

I think the one from yesterday where Caleb talks about the song Cold Desert, is really interesting, and shows a very different side to him.

Three days ago I told someone what I thought of the album and specifically what I thought of Cold Desert:
"Cold Desert" is scary good, a somewhat painful listen if you hear how plaintive he sounds...the fade out and in is brilliant. It gives me the same chill that "Arizona" did although I thought that nothing would top the chill of "Arizona" for me.
Some songs just take you there and good for them that they've got one of those songs on both albums.
And "Trani". Another chill moment. "
They've done really well for themselves."I'm here to see Pearl Jam."- Bono

Yeah I think it's definitely up there Arizona in that spine-chilling kind of way.
I find his phrasing on this album to be somewhat similar to Kurt Cobain's on Nirvana's unplugged. I'm not saying vocally he sounds the same or anything, but there's a similar emotional depth to the way he delivers his words on this one - as you might have guessed I'm having difficulty explaining what I mean0 -
