Fair enough mate, but did you see my post? Is it possible? I won't be giving up hope just yet...
  • According to Billboard's tour finder, the international acts touring the region (meaning already announced concerts in Australia, but nothing in NZ yet) during November and December are:
    Billy Joel
    Chris Isaak
    Kylie Minouge
    Robbie Williams
    Pearl Jam

By my reckoning, Joel and Isaak don't count as attracting a younger audience. Minouge and Williams are out for early December as they appear to be fully booked across Australia from the end of November to mid December (Williams, for instance, has four days between each show and there's no time to get to NZ and back) and not the type of act to announce a 'last minute' show.

Pearl Jam for New Plymouth (or anywhere else)? I believe in miracles.

Shows I've seen (or will be):
Buenos Aires 25/11/05 "this has to be as far as your voices and your energy... of all the years I think this is the greatest audience we've ever played for... es verdad... I mean..no one sings the guitar parts for Christ's sake"
    Buenos Aires 26/11/05
    Sao Paulo 2/12/05
    Rio de Janeiro 4/12/05
    New Plymouth ??/12/06

  • Gosh this thread is going soooo slow at the moment. Fuck I hate the Rock 100. It just gets worse every year. Simply cause it's nothing new. It's just so boring.
  • I still reckon theres a pretty good chance that they'll come to NZ

    Honestly... im not joking...

I guess you get to keep your seniority and that is pretty important to some people. I wasn't a member last time they came out here but I've been a member since 2000 and even though I don't (or won't) get real good tickets out of NZ, it's still worth it to me. It's a bummer now that tickets aren't guaranteed to some shows (imagine being in the US when a shows on and being unable to snag 10C tix!).

I also still believe they are doing all they can to come back here. THey must know that a concert was scheduled for NZ, I don't believe they'll just forgo us again if they can help it. I'll be in New Plymouth, that's for sure!

I reckon I should've renewed my membership, its only 30 bucks or whatever....just when the time came I tried to log on a couple of times and it wouldn't work plus I was angry at the no tour dates.

It might not be too late. There's a 30 day grace period I think...

Now, are you being a dick? Or do you have some inside info? Don't hold out on us if you know something real...
  • Haha fuck. I just spent all my PJ show money this month. 200 USD on vinyl. I think I have given up hopes of seeing them this year.

    What did you buy?

Did everyone hear The Rock are giving away a trip to Sydney for the Nov 8th show, so it's not hopeless yet! And I think Tracey is playing Gone soon...

Nice. Maybe I'll win it. No doubt It will probably go to some bastard that only has Ten and hasn't listened to it for the same amount of years.

Don't be so gloomy, bro. You never know who might win. It's a bit harsh judging the winner before it even happens. Anyway, they're fans (of a kind) too. You're chances are as good as anyone (i.e. slim to none! :D) You've got to be in to win, though!

Mostly metal. Band called Burzum. A couple of my albums were in my bag that got stolen. Decided it was time for vinyl. Then I found a rare record I had been looking for the last couple of years on ebay. That cost a bit, heh. Who knew it cost 24 bucks for postage alone!!

Oh, and I'm going to see the dresden dolls tomorrow. Woo!

  • I'm not impressed they're skipping New Zealand AGAIN. As much as i'd love to go to Aus to see them, it's just not feasible for me.

Surely they would be able to sell out a couple of shows here. Something like a gig at Mt Smart and another at Bowl of Brooklands or something.

    GRRRRRRRRRRRRRR
  • Since i have some spare time, i'll thought i'll fill you in on some details of my pearl jam trip.
so far i have been to the marseille concert, and all i can say is wow, what an amzing concert, the setlist was very sick, and our seats where probably the best in the arena centre stage about 30metres back.
Highlights for me would include rare songs they played (fatal, dirt frank, red misquito) matt camerons drum solo, my morning jacket were damn impressive. Infact the whole concert was one big highlight
the only thing i was dissapointed about was the lack of new songs played (3).
I brough a tshirt and a ames poster, might buy a limited edition hoodie next concert, but i already have 1 pearl jam hoodie
I have some photos and videoclips to post later on, once i have time.
Off to verona in a couple of days to see them play in the 3 biggest colosseum in the world, which was built in the 1st century

    Ciao everyone

PS what is all this stuff i hear about don brash having an affair

  • man this thread has really taken a beating. nice one Pearl Jam now we don't have anything to look forward to.

Oh yeah b4 I forget. If there is anybody here going to an aussie show can somebody please get a NZ flag up on stage of something to let Ed know NZ is still here and we love them and are dissapointed.
  • bazzerbazzer Posts: 3,126
Yeah, I would consider doing that. I'm going to Melbourne 1/Adelaide 1 on 10C tickets (so hopefully pretty close) and Adelaide 2 from the 5th row. It would be better if there was someone going to all/more than me so they'd be more exposed, but failing that I'll probably try and at least take a sign. Where do you get cheap NZ flags from anyway, Warehouse?

I'd rather be with an animal.
  • ok, second concert was very different from the first. heaps of new songs, 8 in total i think, the whole day was nice until about 6pm when it piss down, it had be 2 days when i last experienced rain that heavy, and last time it fucked my cell phone and digital camera.
once again my morning jacket was brillant.
pearl jam were beautiful, the crowd was more into it than marseille, and the band feed off it.
a huge difference in setlist from marseille, the my sarona(my varona) was classic, i have heaps of pic and videoss, many of then blurry, i will post them in a couple of weeks
and also i brought a limited edition hoodie.

    go the stages
