Dude, eventually you will use up all your funny. Gotta pace yourself.

That did make me laugh, considering you have what...10 Tele's now? ;)

    No, jeez.

    Just three.

I only need three more, and my collection is complete:

    Tele-Sonic
    '72 Deluxe RI
    American Standard
...and if you don't like it, you can suck on an egg.
  • Tele's are for idiots.
    you're not fooling anybody :)

I LOVE it. Everything is stock except for the bridge. I didn't want intonation problems, so I had them put on a 6-saddle bridge when the guitar came in. It probably would have been fine. It's a MiM '72 Custom Tele, had a luthier friend of mine set it up...neck adjusted, intonation, etc. He said it was the best factory put together guitar he'd ever seen. I don't really use the neck position much, but it does sound good. It's always always in the bridge position for that classic tele bite, but when I don't need as much bite the middle position has a great sound.
i've had my eyes on that tele...beautiful guitar. However, i think if i get a tele it's going to be a 52 butterscotch blonde...i'm in love with it.

in general, how noisy are teles? compared to strats where do they rate?
"I'll do whatever the song dictates - if it doesn't need a real lead, then I won't do one. But if it does, then I'll fuckin' go off." - Mike

"Japan is awesome; the fans there knew all the words to all the songs...at least phonetically." - Stone

"I know this song so well, I can smoke a cigarette, have a drink, brush my teeth, take a shit, and mow the lawn while singing it. But I'll only be doing a couple of those things during this version." - EV

As far as Tele's go the only other one I would get is the '52 RI, and the only thing I'd add to it would be these...

On mine, in the bridge position, I have enough high end to cut through a frozen steak. It's awesome. If I still need some high end, just not as peircing, I put it in the middle position and it blends well with the humbucker.
But yeah, bridge position on a tele is noisier than a strat in the same position.

I like the '52RI too, if I ever get a 2nd tele that'd be it.
