I got the body cut out for my jazzmaster. I went with mahogany, because I couldnt find any thick basswood. I know it sounds silly, but I had never played a mahogany guitar before, but my God, it pretty heavy! I dont know how Page ever played the double neck SG like he did. It should have a really nice tone to it though. And I still have some contouring to do, so that will cut down on the weight some. My next step is cutting the neck pocket which should be pretty easy. The hardest part will be the wiring and routing (humbuckers, 2 singles on a 5 way and toggle) followed closely by the pickguard which I will have to cut out myself. How did I get into this situation you ask? Well I found out about warmoth after I had ordered a black pickguard. And since I payed my school with a check, I cant just send it back. Oh well. Any one have any tips that will make the process of this whole thing easier, It would be greatly appreciated
