Its such a good song.. but so sad...

Im not big on crying.. but i get tears even hearing the opening chords to this one... Makes me sad that i can't listen to it that often :D

If I keep holding out,... will the light shine through?
Under this broken roof,... it's only rain that I feel
I've been waiting out the days,... Come Back.

I have been planning out,... All that I'd say to you
Since you slipped away,... Know that I still remain true
I've been wishing out the days,..

Please say, that if you hadn't of gone now
I wouldn't have lost you another way
From wherever you are,.... Come Back.

And these days, they linger on
And I'm the night, as I'm waiting on
The real possibility I may meet you in my dream
I go to sleep

If I don't fall apart,.... will the memories stay clear
So you had to go,......... and I had to remain here

But the strangest thing to date
So far away
And yet you feel so close
And I'm not gonna question it any other way

There must be an open door
For you to
Come Back

And the days, they linger on
And every night, what I'm waiting for
Is the real possibility I may meet you in my dream

And sometimes you're there
And you're talking back to me
Come the morning I could swear you're next to me

And it's okay.

It's okay.
It's okay.

I'll be here
Come Back
Come Back

I'll be here
Come Back
Come Back

I'll be here
Come Back
Come Back

The thing i love about this song, is obviously, there is a very sad tone. Its a tone that could mean your boyfriend just tore your heart to shreads, a loved one passed away, or even missing something random! (like pearl jam shows, hint hint) And everyone has had something that they wish would come back... international lyrics are the way to go!

I dread the day I can't stomach this song anymore
Because it will mean something horrible will have happened to someone I love

I love this song, the lyrics and all.
My favorite part is when the distorted guitar comes in after the echoey guitar solo, its like the climax of the song, so amazing.

So sad and so beautiful at the same time... I love it...

If I heard it live at a show somewhere, I think I could die happy...
Just put a bend in the road, I'm growing tired of straight lines...

I love this one too. It brings back great memories of the friends and family members I've lost. It also gets me thinking about how important friendship is and having good solid relationships with those who you love and love you. Life is too short. Enjoy it and be a good person.

They played it in St. Paul on June 27, 2006 (and a couple weeks later in San Diego). It was amazing still remember my excitement when they started. I find myself watching this song the most on the IIC dvd as well. Would have given anything to be there that night!
    Cheers!

Had the same thought just a few days ago... That's weird.

Nowadays, I cannot listen to that song without crying and then being sentimental for the rest of the day. It's so extremely powerful, and especially when you've lost people you couldn't even imagine living without.

The lyrics just put words on my feelings in a better way that I could possibly express myself.

And in the end, "Ill be here, come back, come back..."
The way he sings those lines.

I don't know what to say.
  • i can well up listening to this song when just driving along, makes me realise what a lucky fella i am! if this song dont move you check your pulse.brutal lyrics if your in a bad place tho.

It is such a beautiful song! Eddie is amazing at writing songs. The best in the world! My mother passed away 4 and a half years ago when I was 23 years old and I think about her everytime I hear this song. I think about my mom everyday, but whenever I hear this song, it really hits home.

Please say, that if you hadn't of gone now
I wouldn't have lost you another way.....

These words are so important to me. I believe in fate and destiny and those words hold such strong meaning to me. I lost a close friend just a couple months before the album came out and I remember hearing it for the first time and I bawled my eyes out. Somehow listening to the song (over and over again) allowed me to grieve for my loss and helped me through the very difficult time after his passing.
