    only just joined this site.as a 50year old fan-id say everything about them is just amazing.theyve got the best set of songs on the planet-theyre just a very interesting band.the dvds are absolutely fantastic.ive liked them since the first album but not really bothered with them too much till recently,so its like discovering a new band.my favourite track off the new album is definately 'gone' followed by 'inside job.vedder is an absolute legend-for me hes surpassed even the great jim morrison.

    - Perfect lyrics.
    They are the soundtrack of my life.

    the beauty that arises from the five/six-member conflict... PJ is made of 5 different people but they make very beautiful music! plus each song has a different insight. and not just any insight: their music deal with complex stuff that seem to solve all your problems. both musically and lyrically.

    I have been a die hard fan since 91, and I love them more and more and more:

    1) Their songs are life, not about having sex with your bitch, drinking whiskey, etc. They are about love, loss, war, depression, aloneness....all of which I have felt the effect of.

    2) Their concerts are all different. If you see them 2 nights in a row, thier shows are very different....there is no "show."

    3) They respect fans, and women in particular. We are not objects to get backstage....in most concerts they ask us to protect each other. They care.

    4) They saved my life with their music. On more than 1 occasion.

    I was at Bercy the other night and watching them in awe...not only is their music beyond amazing, they really enjoy themselves...I felt like I grew up with them in High School...felt like I knew them, they are down to earth and I love it when you see their personalities shine through. Love watching them joke around together. They are very inspiring individuals. Just love them, love them, love them!

    The fact that they're so versatile is a huge reason for me. I loved Ten, listened to it religiously when I first bought it, but then I heard Corduroy and went out and bought Vitalogy, which couldn't have been more different to the stuff I was listening to. Every album they've done has a different sound to it, they never become repetitive, so I can never grow bored of them. Eddie's voice is absolutley spectacular, just listen to him duet with Cornell on TotD's 'Hungerstrike'. It has to be one of the greatest couplings in musical history :D
    Plus, Immortality has to be my favourite song of all time, so logically PJ would have to be my favourite band right?

    Their generosity towards the public, when live.
    Awesome gigs, the best ever.
    McCready and Gossard's guitar god moments.
    Vedder's baritone.
    Ament's silent charisma.
    The fact that they REALLY stand for the right causes.
    Truly inspirational lyrics, fit for life.
    Songs that bring me back to the person I was when I first heard PJ; growing up with it.

    this is gonna sound wierd... but, for me, it's the not knowing why i'm so devoted to them. it's hard to explain. I've been a fan from the start. People have come and gone, lives have passed me by... but the one constant in my life has always been Pearl Jam. Every emotion i have ever felt, i can find some relation in their music. They are a very personal and very important band for me. I have never come across any other band like them and probably never will. I owe them alot and can't thank them enough for what they do and have done for me.
