Soon Forget...

Am I the only one who thinks that this is one of the the greatest PJ songs ever?
Sorry is the fool who trades his soul for a corvette.
Thinks he'll get the girl he'll only get the mechanic.
What's missing?
He's living a day he'll soon forget.
That's one more time around.
The sun is going down.
The moon is out but he's drunk and shouting.
Putting people down.
He's pissing.
He's living a day he'll soon forget.
Counts his money every morning.
The only thing that keeps him horny.
Locked in a giant house that's alarming.
The townsfolk they all laugh.
Sorry is the fool who trades his love for hi-rise rent.
Seem the more you make equals the loneliness you get.
And it's fitting.
He's barley living a day he'll soon forget.
That's one more time around and there is not a sound.
He's lying dead clutching Benjamins. Never put the money down.
He's stiffening.
We're all whistling a man we'll soon forget.
Sorry is the fool who trades his soul for a corvette.
Thinks he'll get the girl he'll only get the mechanic.

i believe so...
but it does have some powerful lyrics
we know how ed feelsOh he fills it up with the love of a girl...0 -
... but this is a great song. and i know that i've listened to it about six and one half million times. its a change from the rest of the album, but fits so well. and i love that in the two live performance recordings i have of the the song, ed fucks up the lyrics. brilliant.I want to breathe/Follow the scene/I want to taste/Everyone I see/I want to run when I'm up high/I want to run into the sea/I only want life.../to be.../I just want to be.../I will feel alive.../as long as I am free.0

Well, I wouldnt say best Pj song, but I really like this one!
Beautiful melody, direct lyrics.
Yeah, I love this song.Uno es dueño de lo que calla
y esclavo de lo que habla.0 -
This song is definitely one of my faves!
Ed has teased us a lot with his uke being warmed up on tour, but I didn't get to hear it lol
It's such a beautiful, simple song.
And very catchy!20-04-2006 04-09-2006 05-09-2006 11-09-2006 16-09-2006 17-09-2006 18-06-2007 21-06-2007 26-06-2007 28-06-2007 17-08-2009 20-05-2010 21-05-2010

It's my favourite of off Binaural and I would love to hear it live, even with Ed's screw ups“Hello, babies. Welcome to Earth. It’s hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It’s round and wet and crowded. At the outside, babies, you’ve got about a hundred years here. There’s only one rule that I know of, babies — ‘God damn it, you’ve got to be kind.’” - Kurt Vonnegut0

I love this song, and got to here Ed play it with Luke the Uke a few weeks ago
Twas amazing0 -
Yeah it's a great song, the first 2 lines alone have more lyrical meaning than most songwriters achieve in a whole career. Got to clap along on the wrong beat in 2003, but didn't hear it this time around.
Amazing how many ukeleleleleleleleleles have been sold on the back of this one song !!Music is not a competetion.0 -
I don't know... it's alright, I guess... but there's something about a millionaire singing about greedy millionaires that seems almost... gee, I don't know... contradictory somehow. It's a town full of losers and I'm pulling out of here to win0

That's a bit harsh, the song is no so much about how rich the dude was, more about how being obsessed with money is not healthy. Ed and the boys are hardly gouging misers.Music is not a competetion.0 -
great song.. ed sure fucks it up a lot live lol09/04/05 - Calgary, AB

Wouldn't be a PJ concert if Ed didn't fuck something up, but I just love that. Keeps it real !!Music is not a competetion.0 -

I thought the same thing upon first listening to the song, but having money is not what is at question in the song, it's being ruled by money and letting it control your life that is at questionAll I have to do is revel in the everyday....then do it again tomorrow
They say every sin is deadly but I believe they may be wrong...I'm guilty of all seven and I don't feel too bad at all0 -
This song is incredibly raw and catchy. Great voice inflection, and it feels as if the uke is playing right in your ear. One of my favs.0
