    One of the songs that has related the most to my life is Deep. As soon as I heard this song I immediately could relate it to myself. The words fit perfectly with situations that I have had to deal with in the past, and hopeful not so much in the future. I love this song, I listened to it on repeat to drown out the noise when I got my tatoo. This and Black will always be my two all time favourites.

    Well i'm not sure if the song means exactly this, but it's what I think it means..

    DOWN.

    It's about hope and not losing it. ( that's what I think)
    And whever I was feeling down in a certain time of my life, this song made me believe in hope. Like, better things were on their way to me.
    And to this day when I feel down, it still helps me.

    i would have to agree with the multitudes who say 'indifference'. its the songs that applies most to me, i think. there's a lot of others though too, and they don't directly apply, i can compeletey understand where the song is coming from.



    on side note, anyone notice how earlier pearl jam songs tend to be inward looking, or about the inner feeling of a character ed is singing about, whereas as later songs tend to be outward looking, like "you don't give blood and take it back again", and "i'm gonna save you fucker"

    i would have to say "off he goes" cos its quite often how i feel when things go wrong and i cant fix them. i have a habit of promising the world and then me being let down on what i promise and then i cant get my shit together to sort it out and it just leaves me feeling angry/insane/upset-cue off he goes!!!
    When I was born, the doctor came out to the waiting room and said to my father, I'm very sorry. We did everything we could. But he pulled through......

    Yeah, right now I'm getting over the death of my bro. And I do have regrets about my relationship with him. It had soured there in the end and I put my grudge before the family. Something I can never make up, and something I hate myself for, but need to eventually make up. These words can't ring more true right now...

    Gotta go with I Am Mine.....

    I got the Riot Act album around the time when old girlfriend decided to end our 3 year relationship. I Am Mine was the first tune that really stood out from the rest of that album and the lyrics are flawless.

    I can't believe you posted that, it's mine at the moment aswell! I needed a kick up the gary to make me go to my graduation (it'll be this Thursday) as I thought I couldn't go. I was really upset with myself at the thought that I nearly stopped myself from going, for a couple of days. Whenever I think about it I play that song in my head, and it's been a while since I was upset about it now.

    hey this is d first msg ive posted! ive been reading dem for a few days though.Funny how life turns around on u yesterday i wud have said THIN AIR i was walking 2 college 2day listening 2 BINAURAL and i had 2 skip it now i wud say dat grievence sums up how i feel right now its such a powerful song it just hit me earlier PLEDGE YOUR GRIEVENCE 2 THE FLAG.
