    Pretty wild!

I would love to find an entire set of 1956 Topps in that condition. It just simply peeled away. Easier than any dings, dents, and crease I've dealt with.

I imagine there has to be some more cards out there in similar condition.  Most people probably have no idea there’s a solution and they’ve given up on them.
    Agreed 100%.
And the solution literally took less than 5 minutes.

    I will find more.
At some point I will find 100-200 more.
buddy of mine has a 51 Mantle like that.  I asked if he wanted to gamble and "fix it".

    He declined.
Really? If at anytime you can get a picture of that card, please send my way. I would love to see it.
He is a big time dealer.  He most likely sold it already.

You should see the stuff he goes through...

Are you interested in any of my cards? Free of charge? I've got some 60s and 70s HOFers that didn't clean up to the point where I would get them graded. But they are still 60s and 70s HOFers. Im not giving any names. LOL

    You interested?
Plus I have a 2026 base set you can have. No charge.

    Let me know.

Just give me an address and they are yours.

Thank you! I appreciate it but I’ve purged a lot of my collection and I’m mostly a basketball guy these days.  You’ve done a fantastic job with these cards and I’m enjoying seeing the before and after photos.  Keep ‘em coming!

My new project? I am putting together 2 complete sets of 1959 Topps baseball. I've spent the last couple months buying the 59 cards in bulk, with only trying to purchase in ex-mnt-or better. Then I have started cleaning every card. I had most of the expensive hard to get cards already, so that was nice. So I have to work on getting 2nd copies of those. But Ive got most of those covered. Still plenty of harder to get all-star cards and short print. But I have done real well with the auction houses and a couple new connections I have. Check out these pics.

The 1st pic is 12 cards getting ready to be flattened between 2 card boxes. After cleaning and drying, I will flatten for 6- 8 hours. Quite the process. Haha

    Aaron
    Mays
    Brooks Robinsin
    Frank Robinson
    Drysdale
    Banks
    Kaline
    Ashburn
    Hodges
Im working on getting Koufax #2
    Also need a 2nd Clemente.

Still need 2 Yogi's, which turns out isn't so easy of a card to find in decent enough shape.

I am sitting on over 1000 commons.
Any duplicates or cards with multiple copies I just sell right back on ebay. The bulk will sell quick.

I will probably never walk in to a show.
I have enough of the card dealers trying to rip me off when I sell on ebay. I dont need to be in a room full of them.

They look great! A 59 set would be an huge accomplishment, especially after you’ve cleaned it up.   I like that you’re enjoying the effort of  being purposeful with the cards.  It will be worth the effort in the end.

Also… heads up.  One of the latest episodes of Chasing Cardboard on YouTube has a collection that includes a fantastic 1959 baseball set.   Supposed to be one of the nicest ever put together.  The episode is called “I couldn’t say no to this deal.”

This one I need to take a good look at when it shows up in the mail in a few days. It was graded a 2, I cracked the case, cleaned, and only received a 2.5. I must be missing something. Obviously.

You could have a pinhole or surface scratch?

    or

    A bad stain?

It looks really good.  The four corners look a little worn.  Maybe that was it? I can't figure out the graders anymore.

If you get the crease out and not show signs of color loss then you will be a magician.

    I'm rooting for you.
