You are new here. So you don’t know that this is a road of conversation you don’t want to pursue. It is a very contentious topics with too many nasty arguments and insults. Last year’s discussion got really awful. It’s best to let it lie.TenDays said:

I thought the thread was an interesting read, think it was titled same people up front. Or something like that. Basic premise PJ/Ten Club has a no policing line rule, but members line up early and create a list and police the line anyways an example person at spot 13 might be gone all day but shows up 60 minutes before doors open. Pushing the line back where others have waited all day. I don't really care as the rail doesn't matter to me and much rather be by the back rail n GA then front.
Plus this will probably be my one time at Dana Point. I want to see the town0 -
A. There is no list, when the first couple people arrive at the camp line. They figure out the order that everyone agrees on 1,2,3
B. There is no policing, more of an honour system. Don’t be ass to the person in front of you and behind you. Make friends with them.
C. Once everyone is acquainted, everyone works out a system so breaks can happen.
D. When a new person arrives, they ask the person in front of them what number they are. So that new person is now #4
.Vancouver 2024, I was 10th in line and camped out and all the people I saw followed those 4 things. I got rail in front of JA.Reason why the same people are up front are most likely doing legs of tours. They are experienced enough to know what to do.2005: Ottawa / 2011: Ottawa / 2016: Ottawa / 2022: Ottawa / 2022:Quebec City / 2024: Vancouver N1 & N2 / 2024: NY MSG N10 -

In 1992 I lined up for Metallica Tickets. We weren't allowed to be on property so we all camped at the Ground Round across the parking lot from Dayton's it was a good half mile to the front door. I was a fast little fucker back in the day. First go I was properly 13th from the door. But with bumping in line they made us run it over, back to the Ground Round. Still fast, but been up drinking since 100pm and It's now 900am. Second round probably around 50 back....6th round can't believe I got to the sidewalk, ended up with nosebleeds

E. Breaks will last an indefinite amount of time but sufficient for people to nap in hotel rooms, shower, work remotely, camp out in merch lines, attend preparties, and still return 30 minutes before doors open to reclaim their spots.ally12 said:A. I don't think GA at the back would be good. Rear floor is the worse location in the venue. The angle with the stage gets really low, and you can't really see what's going on. My general rule is row 20 is as far back on the floor as I like to be. Any further and I'd rather be a few rows up side stage, or the first section in the wings in front of the stage.I do feel like something happened in 2024 with the way the lottery pulled. I put in for 10c tickets, my wife did, and one of my best friends did and none of us pulled a pair for either show. Then read on here some people got GA for both nights which was disappointing. Not sure I'd be in better shape with seated floor. My tickets kept getting further back on every tour even though I have a Yield area membership. In reality I think I still like GA as there's a chance of being up close, where when it's based on seniority I end up 20 rows back anyways.0

I think that's a good ideaFredrick Goldberg said:Since the formula now seems to be two shows per city why not split it up. Night 1 seats and night 2 ga. This would make everyone happy at least half the time.0 -
I didn't mind the 2003 system where we all got assigned to a block of seating based on our 10C numbers and then randomly assigned within that block based on what time we picked the tickets up.
Even with digital tickets, this could still be the case.
Maybe once the tickets got scanned at the door, then the row/seat populates. We'd know the section in advance, but earlier arrivals would be closer to the stage within that section.
This would also encourage people to check out the opening band.Presidential Advice from President-Elect Mike McCready: "Are you getting something out of this all encompassing trip?"0 -
So this was just announced tonight.
stellar lineup but more on-topic(ish): weird seeing Matt billed solo (and so low on the bill).#Grievance20250 -
Probably hard to get the whole band out there after ohana, and at least someone from the band is making an appearanceShaindli1 said:

. Hard to say whether that means there is /isn't more to come later this year. Perhaps everyone else is staying back in the studio

It's quite common for people to be physically unable to attend a PJ show in the pit for a wide variety of reasons. It's quite obvious that many of you have never thought about it from this perspective, so I encourage you to consider other opinions.JG242853 said:Its hard for me to believe people are advocating for no pit but each to their own. The pit experience is far more lively, with a much more intense experience. Especially up front. And yes, the payment is you need to stand for a while. You need stamina to handle it. It's not for everyone. Whenever I get pit I feel blessed.
I was at the Slide Away festival in Brooklyn a few weeks back. The band I was there to see was Hum, and they came on at 11:15! I'm used to Pearl Jam where that signals the end of the night. Plus, I'm a Dad of two so there's no sleeping in for me the next morning on weekends to rest up. But I was so energized by the GA crowd, and they were refreshingly mostly quite young. It reminded me of what a great GA crowd can add to the show, and the band really fed off the energy.Randall's Island, NY 9/29/1996, Randall's Island, NY 6/8/1997 (Ed and Mike), Jones Beach, NY 8/23/2000, Los Angeles, CA 7/10/2006, Hartford, CT 6/27/2008, Los Angeles, CA 10/6/2009, San Diego, CA 11/21/2013, Los Angeles, CA 11/24/2013, MSG, NY 5/1/2016, Seattle, WA 8/10/2018, Los Angeles, CA 5/6/2022, Los Angeles, CA 5/7/2022, Camden, NJ 9/14/2022, St Paul 8/31/2023, St Paul 9/2/2023, Las Vegas 5/18/24, MSG NY 9/3/24, Philadelphia PA 9/9/24, Ohana CA 9/27/24, Atlanta, GA 4/29/25, Pittsburgh, PA 5/16/25, Pittsburgh, PA 5/18/250 -

they did no pit for the 2010 tour....that was great
there was a random draw for 1st or 10th row then seniority took over
I pulled 10th row for Columbus and Noblesville....it was really nice being that close but not smashed up against peopleRemember the Thomas Nine !! (10/02/2018)

Do you think Matt Cameron should be headlining? Who should he be billed in front of? No one is paying a couple hundred dollars to see 15-30 min of whatever Matt is going to do/play.Shaindli1 said:

Are you saying that the same people who line up for every show are always up front Uhmm who would of thought it 🥸mcgruff10 said:
Seats on the floor were fun as hell. I would say there was more energy at the seated shows. Probably because people weren’t tired from lining up for daysGlowGirl said:
There are already seats on the floor. They are just behind the pit. The pit is way too much fun to get rid of.MB30816 said:
Now you're speaking my language. The seats behind the stage are honestly great seats and they definitely bring a different energy than the screen does.mcgruff10 said:Paul i could also care less who the next drummer is. Also bring back seats on the floor, sell behind the stage and play some shows!!!
Let's go back to seats on the floor. In my ideal world, each person would get to pick one show where they get priority for tickets. Among the fans whose names are drawn in the lottery for that show, a second lottery determines who sits in the first 5 rows, then seating goes by seniority after that. It would allow people who otherwise never get the opportunity to get close to have a chance to be up front. And being able to declare one show as your priority would mean that people are less likely to get shut out completely for 10C ticketing.jesus greets me looks just like me ....0 -
Those were my favorite years of going to PJ. The anticipation of picking up your 10C tickets from the box office the day of the show and finding out your seats was the best.Gern Blansten said:they did no pit for the 2010 tour....that was great

Big problem with going back to a fully seated floor is the way the ticketing landscape has changed. 95% of that GA space would likely be “premium” and priced at $500-2000. Be careful what you wish for.0
