    10 in a row!
impressive! Cubs and Yankees are the hottest teams in the sport right now.
It helps they played the Phillies and the Red Sox.
speaking of the latter…they bring in bregman, alienate devers, trade devers, let bregman walk…..and now fire most of the coaching staff. trouble in beantown.
They have a hell of a farm team coming up.  They will be fine.
As long as those guys don't earn large contracts, then they'll be shipped elsewhere before getting paid.

Is the owner transferring funds to theatrical ventures?
Liverpool FC, Rousch Fenway Racing and up until a few months ago the Pittsburg Pengy's

I had heard he was pressured and gave the ball to her.

Dude had no clue that was a kid.  He had blinders on and wanted that ball. He should have immediately given it to her though once he realized what he did do.

If you don't realize that there are cameras everywhere and you will get called out for doing shitty things.

No way he lasts long there.  They failed with the Gerardi experiment. I can't see another hardnose manager staying long.

They tried to get Cora but Cora turned them down. Cora may be waiting to see what happens with the Mets after this season.

Cora is collecting $7Million this year and $7million+ next to hang out in Puerto Rico or wherever he chooses. I don't think he manages again this year and possibly not next year. Breslow should have been fired, instead Breslow was allowed to fire Cora and most of his staff because they couldn't win with the dog shit roster Breslow assembled for them.

This is hilarious and kind of awesome. What if he ends up having to fire his dad lol?

"Mattingly will now officially work for one of his sons -- Preston Mattingly is the Phillies' general manager -- in what is believed to be the first father-son manager-GM combination in baseball history."

I think it would be mutual. Mattingly wasn't even trying to get one of the many openings that were available last season. But hopefully they can go on a run and he can stay a few years to get his win pct. above. 500.

Walt Weiss also is a Pearl Jam fan. I remember discussing it with him when he managed the Rockies.

It would be funny if Cora teamed up with another coach like Jimbo Fisher who is getting paid big money to not coach and post some photos from Disneyland.

note: when looking up the highest paid coaches that don't coach, Purdue's last football HC, whose name I didn't even remember, is getting paid $9M to sit at home.   Boiler Up?

Heading to the Yankees game today, 30 of us, for my cousin's son's birthday. Haven't been to a Yankees game in a bit. A special occasion requires a special jersey.

I got this maybe 15 years ago. It's 100% wool and it's the itchiest thing I've ever worn lol, but it's so fucking cool.

    2 family-adjacent Babe facts:

    A) When my maternal grandfather (a die-hard Red Sox fan!) was a kid, he was a lift operator in a building in Manhattan where one of Babe's girlfriends lived. He told me they'd have pretty much the same exact conversation every time Babe showed up:

    Gramps: How ya doing Babe?

Babe (hands Gramps a dollar bill): Top floor, Lee.

    2) Gramps, his wife/my Grandma, & my mom are buried at the same cemetery as Babe, in a suburb of NYC. All the years I've been going to that cemetery, and I've never been to Babe's grave. Don't even know exactly where it is. Maybe I'll pay a visit the next time I go.

The Savannah Bananas put 102,000 butts in seats at College Station on Saturday ... I'm not sure MLB could do that with a Game 7 of the World Series.

I'm for anything that gets kids interested in baseball, even if it is a version of the Harlem Globetrotters.  Let them enjoy baseball before they get older, pledge allegiance to a team like the Mets, and have their souls slowly ripped apart over a 162 game season.  :*
