ok first off No Code is a freakin' amazing album, smile, present tense, red mosquito are among pj's best songs

i think (and a lot of people disagree) that VS is pj's best album, and here's my case, 10 is a great album but it is way too overproduced, it sounds like the record execs were wanting it to be an album of 12 singles(kinda like nirvana-nevermind) cuz really what songs on 10 couldn't have been a single and that the band was really trying to make a an album that would forever be a classic(which it is obviously) but vs sounds like they had made a little money and they weren't really concerned what the record company thought, they just went into the studio and let it all hang out, while 10 has songs that are better than anything on vs (black, jeremy, alive, oceans, once etc) vs as a whole sounds a lot looser, like they had a lot of fun making it, it also touches on some darker subjects, for example, blood, plus it has my two favorite pj songs on it(RVM, Indifference)but then again theres a strong case to be made for every pj album, ive never been disappointed by one of them, the worst would have to be binaural the track selection was horrendous, while it does have great songs (insignificance,of the girl, rival, to name a few) i dont understand how sleight of hand could make it on the album but not down or fatal(i could be wrong but i believe those were both b-sides for binaural) this is such a tricky question though because really all there albums are great and they all have great songs on them

All in all, i think this is a stupid and pointless thread. By what standards are we judging the albums? By the public's? The public sucks. I have different feelings about each album. I dont feel that they can be compared because each album stands on its own.

    my thoughts exactly.
btw.. what's up with all this hate for binaural..?! i fuckin love it. songs like of the girl, grievance and sleight of hand are some of their best to my opninion.

he should've used favorite in the title instead of best.

good point. you can't measure something like "the best" in music cos it isn't a fact.

  • No Code has no flow, Yield has perfect flow, and Ten has even flow.

    Ten is my favorite album
VS is my least favorite album, just cause it seems a bit forced, but I love it all.

  • I really can't believe all the binaural bashing. This album is really really good, and the one that helped me re-discover the band after a few years away. From the rockers to the ballads, this is really an underrated album. Matter of fact, I just put it on right now.... Breakerfall just kicks ass!

I think everyone should just put this on and listen to it a couple times straight through... Find the lyrics on the net if you want, they really had a lot to say on this album as well......

Can't place a fav or least fav... each album is unique, special and fitting for the time they came out... No Code does hold a special place in my heart though... hence the username.
