Trump was interviewed by Time. Never heard a president talk so indifferently about american lives.

When asked about the potential domestic threat from Iran, he shrugged and said “we expect some things”.

Then it dawned on me. He is HOPING they do something on american soil. Then he can switch the narrative back to democrat open borders letting terrorists into the country, hoping to scare people into voting R in the mids.

That or so he can declare martial law.

Asked whether Americans should be worried about retaliatory attacks at home, Trump acknowledges the possibility. “I guess,” he says. “But I think they’re worried about that all the time. We think about it all the time. We plan for it. But yeah, you know, we expect some things. Like I said, some people will die. When you go to war, some people will die."

It sure feels like we're fucked.  But no giving in!  The fight for democracy is on, and we need to stay in the ring for the long run.  Strength in numbers, and our numbers are strong- perhaps even growing to some degree (every little bit help).

rando adbook post. easily verifiable info...

Rancher fired (Noem), plumbing business guy hired (Mullin).  Let's talk about it.

On DEI. Since we’re talking about “merit” and “the most qualified person should get the job,” let’s talk about it for real. For years we’ve heard the same argument anytime Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion comes up:

“Just hire the most qualified person.”

But the same people making that argument rarely apply it to the people actually running the government. Let’s look at the qualifications of some current leaders in the Trump administration.

    Homeland Security - Markwayne Mullin
    • ASSOCIATE degree, Construction Technology - Oklahoma State University Institute of Technology
    • Owner, Mullin Plumbing
    • Rancher and business owner
    • Former professional MMA fighter
    • U.S. Representative (2013 - 2023)
    • U.S. Senator (2023 - present)
    • No federal law enforcement leadership experience
    • No intelligence community leadership experience
    • No national security command experience
    • No emergency management agency leadership experience

    Defense Secretary - Pete Hegseth
    • BA, Princeton University
    • MPP, Harvard Kennedy School
    • Army National Guard officer
    • Fox News host
    • No senior military command of a service branch
    • No prior experience managing an organization comparable to the Pentagon

Health and Human Services - Robert F. Kennedy Jr.
    • BA, Harvard University
    • JD, University of Virginia
    • Environmental lawyer and activist
    • No medical degree
    • No public health degree
    • No experience running a hospital system, health department, or national health agency

    Education Secretary - Linda McMahon
    • BA, East Carolina University
    • Former CEO of WWE
    • Former Small Business Administration administrator
    • No career as teacher, principal, superintendent, or professor
    • No professional background running a public education system

    Transportation Secretary - Sean Duffy
    • BA, St. Mary’s University
    • JD, William Mitchell College of Law
    • Former county prosecutor
    • Former member of Congress
    • Former television personality
    • No experience running a transit system, airline, rail network, port authority, or state transportation department

Director of National Intelligence - Tulsi Gabbard
    • BA, Hawaii Pacific University
    • Army Reserve officer
    • Former member of Congress
    • No prior leadership in a U.S. intelligence agency
    • No experience running the intelligence community

Now look at Black and other people who held comparable national leadership roles.

    Defense - Lloyd Austin
    • BA, U.S. Military Academy at West Point
    • MA, Auburn University
    • MBA, Webster University
    • Four-star general
    • Commander of U.S. Central Command

    Homeland Security - Alejandro Mayorkas
    • BA, UC Berkeley
    • JD, Loyola Law School
    • U.S. Attorney
    • Director of U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services
    • Deputy Secretary of Homeland Security before becoming Secretary

    Homeland Security - Jeh Johnson
    • BA, Morehouse College
    • JD, Columbia Law School
    • General Counsel of the Department of Defense
    • National security lawyer with decades of experience

    Education - Miguel Cardona
    • BS, Central Connecticut State University
    • MS, University of Connecticut
    • EdD, University of Connecticut
    • Teacher
    • Principal
    • Assistant superintendent
    • State education commissioner

Education - John B. King Jr.
    • BA, Harvard University
    • MA, Columbia Teachers College
    • JD, Yale Law School
    • EdD, Columbia Teachers College
    • Teacher
    • School leader
    • State education commissioner

    Transportation - Anthony Foxx
    • BA, Davidson College
    • JD, NYU School of Law
    • Mayor of Charlotte
    • Executive leadership running a major American city before becoming Secretary of Transportation

    Attorney General - Loretta Lynch
    • BA, Harvard University
    • JD, Harvard Law School
    • Assistant U.S. Attorney
    • U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of New York

    Attorney General - Eric Holder
    • BA, Columbia University
    • JD, Columbia Law School
    • Judge
    • U.S. Attorney
    • Deputy Attorney General before becoming Attorney General

    So let’s be clear.

The loudest critics of “DEI hires” routinely defend appointments that prioritize loyalty, politics, or celebrity over deep subject-matter experience. Meanwhile the people they dismiss as “DEI” often bring more education, more expertise, and longer public service records to the job.

You can oppose DEI if you want.

But stop pretending the opposition is about qualifications.
