Before I looked at the vote, I guessed who the sycophants would be and lo and behold, it was the 3 most partisan judges on there. The other 3 at least fluctuate and seem to hold to certain legal ethics each time. These 3 dissenters go out of their way to side with the president, or king, as they would basically like it to be.

Gorsuch laid it out nicely...it's Congress' job to levy taxes and while the process can be difficult it is that way for a reason.

That is completely obvious of course but with maga you have to use crayons

I know Trump already said he’s got other means to get the tariffs in place, like by executive order. But even if he just straight up defied the courts, is there honestly any repercussions for doing so?

nope. history has shown the checks and balances many of us thought were good enough (myself included) only are as good as the person being checked. Especially when the DOJ is in your back pocket.

except in the constitution the president cannot do this. they do not have the authority to decree a tax on someone, which is what a tariff is. that is congress's job. but i doubt a good portion of congress even knows that. lookin at that maga wing of congress...

Good fucking luck with this little stat but you know, DC is just DCing. What are those other 24% of repubs and 18% of ‘murikkkans thinking? Would love to see these numbers in a year or so. From Letter From An American:

Morris adds that 50% of Americans think Trump’s policy decisions have hurt the economy while only 26% say they have helped. And the Washington Post reported yesterday that 60% of Americans disapprove of Trump’s job performance, his lowest approval rating since shortly after the January 6, 2021, attack on the U.S. Capitol.

i am surprised only 60% disapprove of his overall job performance.

and if 3/4 of republicans say he must obey rulings of the supreme court, why are none of them in his cabinet or in congress to actually make him do it? i guess you have to be a sycophant to be in any kind of position of power these days.
