President Trump referred to Border Patrol commander Greg Bovino as “a pretty out there kind of guy” when asked if his decision to have Bovino leave Minneapolis was a “pull back.”

Under DHS’ use-of-force policy, moves that cut off a person's breathing “must not be used as a means to control non-compliant subjects or persons resisting arrest.”

Videos we reviewed showed agents using these restraints to do just that.

Way to go, Philadelphia! The city has introduced new legislation putting real limits on ICE activity. Federal agents will no longer be allowed to operate anonymously no masks, visible identification required, and arrests must be backed by warrants signed by a federal judge. Physical intimidation and assaults are explicitly barred. If agents ignore these rules, they won’t be protected they’ll be arrested.

Is there anyone else here that is concerned that this who shitshow has just resulted in us not getting true immigration reform for an even longer timeframe?  It was very much so needed, my opinion.  NO one would do anything cause they wanted the votes.  We almost got something near the end of Biden's term but again was turned into political theater instead of policy due to Trump telling GOP not to vote for it.  So close.

Obviously, to many at least, the actions of the trump Admin and ICE are way over the line, even before killing protesters.  But it doesn't change the fact that once a Dem is back in the presidency...hopefully soon...or even if a normal GOP gets elected (not likely for a while), that we will have a broken immigration system and still no one who wants to address it appropriately.

Just like the way this admin handles fraud (only going after political enemies) will likely hamper true work to curb fraud in the future.

Oh .... and what about the Epstein Files?  I honestly would be ok if we stopped just about everything else until that was completely released and people held accountable...never going to happen.

immigration will never be solved. the republicans need that issue to run on because they have nothing else to run on.

they do not want to fix it because they need something to talk about and hammer dems on in debates and the campaign trail. what else would they use, the democratic record on the economy? everyone knows the dems always bail out republican presidents after they leave the economy in the shitter.

immigration reform was killed forever a few years ago when rubio pulled support and voted against his own immigration bill.

The system has been broken for a long time. Decades. The difference is the increased and aggressive enforcement.

despite all the fuckery, I kinda want reagan era governance again. to shed the newt philosophy in politicking would be a huge improvement.

What happens to all these douche bag wannabes they've hired once Trump is gone? This is where I really think they'll have to clean house and fire everyone hired during Trump's term and seek funding for more judges and processing so we can actually have a system that supports immigration instead of treating it as a crime to even want to come to this country unless you're white or will pay the Trump bribe to get in.
    It's a hopeless situation...

They are federal agents. They will sit behind their desks and then collect 75% pensions.
