    I got ya all beat.
Ill never work another day in my life. Haha

Sorry, just being a jerk. Haha

You all work in a very different work environment than I did. I had companies, that would give me $0.25 an hour raise per year. I had to wait 7 years before I got my 3rd weeks vacation.

Geez, when I look back. Haha

I chose my profession for a few reasons. Mainly because I could not, nor would not have been able to spend 8 hours a day in any type of indoor/office environment with human beings. I functioned much better in a work environment when 95% of my day was just me and my truck.

Agreed. I have been working fully remotely since 2006. I don't think I could ever go back to an office environment.

Almost every single trucking company I ever worked for offered me an office/management position. I turned each and every one down.

I'm currently writing my will, including my living will, funeral wishes, etc. It's actually a pretty fun process. It's stress free because I don't have any kids or a husband, and I basically own nothing, lol. But still, important to get done before I get any older - I don't want my family to have to deal with my death without a will - what a pain in the ass that is. This is a big item checked off my list of things to do, so it feels good!

yeah, we've had to redo ours a couple times as our kids have grown older and other marriages have split up (the ones who were going to get the kids if both of us died). pain, but bigger pain for those left behind if you don't, as you said.

I'm so morbid my directive is that I don't want a funeral, haha. I called the crematorium to ask them if a body transfer service would be needed to transport my body from the morgue to them, or if they offer the service themselves. Yay! No body transfer service required!

I was going to start a thread on this. Death, mortality, funerals, etc..

Stemmed from a conversation I had with a friend after I went to the funeral of a very good friend of mine a few weeks ago.

It's natural, I think, to think about your own funeral when you go to one, so I did. Who will/won't be there, who won't be allowed there (one person, in my case). What people will say, wear. Speeches. Songs. I even mocked up a prayer card, with a picture and some words on it.

I don't have a plot, but I do know where I want to be buried. Our local cemetery, where my mom, grandparents, & aunt are buried. Section 17 is undeveloped at the moment, but that's where I'll be. My birthday is the 17th, as is my mom's.
May your days be long, til kingdom come.

Dark subject. I experienced more death of friends, relatives and colleagues in 2025 than ever before. A few under sad circumstances. I guess I am getting to that age. May 2026 be a better year and for you and your loved ones. Reach out if you are struggling.
