I'm with you on the inching up thing, I never liked the not a first ballot thing. I understand moving guys off ballots if there are years when there are obvious ones like with Ichiro last year and Rivera when he got elected.

andruw jones went from 31 votes in 2018 to 333 votes in 2025. WTF?

and beltran finished in the top ten of MVP voting TWICE and never led any offensive category in his TWENTY year career.
