You'll have to review it here after you get it and go through it!Jason P said:Rygar said:
I'm a little jealous. The price tag of this scared me off hahaJason P said:Speaking of the PS6, I just pre-ordered this bad boy ...
Time to break out all the old game programming magazines and write myself a bitch'n screen saver!I sat on the fence for a few months because of price (plus VAT fees) puts it at around $400. But the early reviews seem to leave all but the ultra techno nerds impressed. They put out a "starlight" edition that users are complaining about the keyboard flex, but none with the retro breadbox color that I prefer.I'm interested to find out if computing in the 80's was more fun than today or if that is nostalgia in my memory. Actually using a computer as a tool to supplement creativity instead of a doom scroll advertisement machine that sells your personal info to the highest bidder.0 -
Mario Tennis Fever is coming out on Switch for $70. That is way too much for a game series whose campaign is usually under 8 hours.
Nintendo tried to talk a big deal about the $80 for Mario Kart and how you pay extra for these special games that will be played for years … I played for less than 5 hours despite the Switch 2 having no games.
DK Bonanza is basically $100 with the instant DLC and I’ve played that game for about 8 hours. The new Metroid game we waited years for doesn’t look like a Metroid game. The new Pokemon game looks like it was made for the PS2/PS3 (not that I would buy it is it looked like a million bucks).
Games I have bought for the Switch 2 since owning it:
Red Dead Redemption 2
Cast N’ Chill ($15 Indie)
Mario Kart (included in bundle)
DK Bonanza (bought at full price due to lack of original Switch 2 games)
Factorio ($35 Indie)
Dragon Quest VII Re-imagined ($60) ... I try to keep RPG's on Switch
Animal Crossing Upgrade ($5 … this is actually a good price because Nintendo likes to charge $10-$20 to upgraded old games to play in HD)
So 2 exclusives that I have hardly touched. At least the Factorio upgrade was free and added mouse controls. Bravo to the developers!

I'm in my second major attempt at Baldur's Gate 3! I did not understand D&D rules in my first play and went with a sorcerer ... it was frustrating and almost impossible to get through some early battles. I had no idea why I could only use a spell once. Or how the dice rolls were impacting everything. So I did my research and determined to go a simpler build and narrowed it down to a warlock build. I spent time learning the basics and just made it thru the opening scene. The battles seemed to make much more sense this time.Be Excellent To Each OtherParty On, Dudes!0

The old NES red blinking light. Had that a lot. A lot of times i would slowly push the button in, or do it really quick over and over until it worked. Or you can try blowing on it. Seems like blowing on NES stuff usually made things work. hahahaMay 30th said:I tried to hook up my NES last night and it kept having the red blinking light when I pressed the power button. Think I have to give it a little cleaning. Should fix my problem from what I’ve quickly read online.0 -
Downloaded and have been playing Nioh 3 the last few days. Fun game. It's soulslike and is hard, but not to the actual Souls level. It's also more confusing to me figuring out everything.0

What I always did was blowing (of course). I also had success pushing the cart as little far back as possible, so it scrapes the front of the housing when I push it down. Another friend did that but also would put another cart on top of the active one. Everyone has their tricks.
As far as Switch 2, I came close to buying one last week. I broke out my daughter's OLED switch Friday and it turns out it does and includes everything I would pretty much want anyways.
Started playing Adventures of Lolo on the NES Online. Never played it before, what a great game! I had my 12 year old trying some of the boards with me and he was losing his mind. He was flabbergasted with how that is what we played back in the day. He said it was torture.0 -
Hahaha! Seems like every kid had their own trick in order to get those NES games to actually work. And yeah, my NES barely liked to have the actual game in the slot to work. Put it all the way in...nope. Was maybe a 1millimeter happy spot for it.MayDay10 said:mca47 said:

Cast a grease spell when you've got a lot of melee based enemies and enjoy the chaos.Jason P said:I'm in my second major attempt at Baldur's Gate 3! I tried that last night in the first battle against goblins. I had 5 melee goblins I greased and then I picked off the archers and pretty much steamrolled everyone. Can you set the grease on fire? I had a friendly that would have taken damage so I didn't try.Be Excellent To Each OtherParty On, Dudes!0 -
Anybody excited about anything from Sony's State of Play? The 2D Castlevania is a no brainer, but not much else sparked my interest too much. And still no update on the Sony FlexStrike fight stick that they announced last summer as a 2026 release ... hmmThe other game that should be right in my wheel house is Star Wars: Galactic Racer as it combines racing and star wars. Fingers crossed but expectations are so-so if they can pull it off to make it a deep fun game.Be Excellent To Each OtherParty On, Dudes!0

I'm almost finished with God of War: Ascension on the PS3. I've finished the other 5 GoW games so far. Really liked playing all of them.
Also, I have been trying to build a collection of games for the Switch 2 and I picked up Assassin's Creed Shadows today. The trailer for that one looks great! Never played any of the earlier games in the franchise so I don't have any expectations for it to live up to.If hope can grow from dirt like me, it can be done. - EV0 -

I didn't really like the PS4 remake where he is an old dude trying to have an emotional connection with his son ... i want to be sticking lighting bolts up Zeus' butthole and making Charon my bitch. But the graphics looked pretty good. I got stuck in some section where I ended up taking a break ... I think I deleted the game to make room for new ones.If you like older games that have recently been optimized for the Switch 2, Bethesda has released updated versions of Fallout 4 and Skyrim that target 60 FPS (need to own Anniversary edition) Red Dead Redemption received an update with better graphics and 60 FPS (free!!!) and looks pretty amazing in handheld ... I have all 3 of these games in my Top 20 of all-time.Be Excellent To Each OtherParty On, Dudes!0 -
Great info! I think I'll stick with the early GoW games too. I've seen enough of the new ones to know that they took away the things that made me love the earlier one. God of War III and Ascension were my favorites of the 6 games available for the PS3.Jason P said:dudeman said:I'm almost finished with God of War: Ascension on the PS3. I have a copy of Red Dead Redemption for the PS3 but I haven't started it yet. Maybe next weekend. I'll be on the lookout for the other ones you mentioned for the Switch 2.If hope can grow from dirt like me, it can be done. - EV0
