When briefly considering going, I was looking for the shortest flight even if it meant connecting or self connecting.  From Continental North America I think Vancouver and Seattle are tied at 10 hours to Tokyo westbound.  Honolulu is surprisingly not much less at about 9.  For me, anything over 6 hours needs to have something very compelling at the other end.  Ed in small venues? Comes close but doesn’t quite make the cut, partly because I have had the good fortune to see him in small-ish venues before.  Give me something a little closer and I’m in.

As an aside, the days of flights with the luxury of turning off the outside world and email are kind of gone thanks to in flight Wi-Fi.
The Earth is a sphere so northerly routes will be shorter than routes at the equator or widest portion of the sphere.

Haneda is in the city, Narita is a different prefecture and like 2 hours away.

Yep the trip to the city from Narita can easily be two hours and cost $200 in a taxi. They do have an express train that is not too bad if you do not have a ton of luggage. Most times we have take buses directly to a hotel, but sitting in that traffic after a long flight is awful. Haneda is just 100 times easier. It is also one of the nicest airports in the world.

I booked my round trip from LHR to HND today. When you book yours, we can get in touch to find out if we're in the same flight(s)

Has anyone had success with the regular sale?
I keep getting "There is no ticket information at this time."

Edited - I totally misread the data. Sale starts Feb 14. (It's been a long week).

My wife and I are flying into Narita, we did splurge for Business class so that the seats lie flat. Our plan for the whole trip is to take the express trains. We are just doing Tokyo, Kyoto and Osaka. Will be first true international trip as we did do Ireland but that's all English so I wasn't too fish out of water haha

Ticket charges are still pending which makes me nervous, but I did receive a confirmation email after I first had a fraud email I had to approve and try my sale again.

You will be fine and love it there. Japan has become so much more accepting of foreign tourists in the last fifteen years, especially in the major cities. And the best food on the planet IMHO.

Do we think tickets for these shows will be obtainable on the general onsale?

Hoping we can get some more 10c tickets dropped soon so I can plan this trip. I don't want to lock in airfare if I can't get tickets.

When is the regular sale? Can international people buy?

People said I should worry less about my forthcoming unemployment, and just go when I have the chance...

It opened already... and I don't know if I would agree with "people" right now.
Economic future scares me away from big purchases right now.... and it's an EV show so no real surprises that we haven't already seen. I'm glad the fans in Japan have their chance now. But if you go... enjoy...
