Damn, Japan is on our bucketlist for ages but comes to early this year..
We’re planning a west-coast roadtrip from LA to Seattle with Ohana as startpoint.

Is it really a gap ? Looks more like a tour with a single home town show tagged on later

IDK but likely nothing. The Japan tour is EV solo, no Earthlings/Glen involved.

Sort of a bummer that the return to Japan is EV Solo and not PJ, but it’s probably the closest thing to the band in Japan that we will ever see

3 month heads up is a little tough.  If this was announced last year, I probably would have been in for all 4 shows.  Should be a fun tour for those who can make it.

Something that anyone going to these shows should note

If the show says that it is starting at 6:00 PM, you best be in your seat by 5:30.  Shows in Japan generally start right at the listed start time.  They are often much earlier in the evening to allow guests to use the public transit system going home.

It’s not like America where 7:30 start time means the band goes on at 9:15.  Just a heads up!

Japan now while the boys practice the material with new drummer.

kind of like how Maynard has side projects when Adam Jones, Justin Chancellor and Danny Cary are practicing. I’m hoping that Ed just wants to get out and play while the guys are rehearsing back at the studio.

That's amazing.  If they did that here, it would save so much on hotel $$.  I could get a ferry back after a concert kind of thing.  It would also save burning vacation days to do the return trip the following day.  I like it.

Just looked at flights PDX - NRT for EV's tour dates and it's about $900, then add Eco+ seat upgrades for long flights, so about $1200 total. Not horrible. Been to Japan in 2014, loved it.

I hope they come somewhere near the DFW area. I was a huge fan in high school and somehow they fell off my radar.

I recently rediscovered them and it’s been a true life changing epiphany. I am obsessed. Discovering new(old) music, deep diving and realizing how much I missed. All this time I missed out on, all the shows, the community.

I’m new here, but have somehow always been around. I feel like I’ve discovered a secret club that has always been under my nose.

I’m calling it now. EV North America and Australia Tour announcement tomorrow. Reason why Japan dropped at 9PM is because it was Tuesday there. Tour announcements normally drop on Tuesdays. What would the point be of adding 2026 to announcement if he’s never done Japan before. Thinking May/June dates.
Assuming 1:00 ET announcement if hypothetical US dates were to drop today. Would be impressive for that to happen with zero rumors preceding

agreed, impressive that these shows were not leaked. Certainly not out of the question for US dates to drop with no notice considering these just did.

I would guess this announcement reduces the chance of PJ shows in 2026. But you never know with this band.
