    I am looking forward to joining a Polar Bear Plunge on January 1st.

    My ex. Today is her birthday.

    Our relationship ended years ago, and I don't think I'll ever truly get over her.

    I've dated other women since. None seriously, but not for any reason other than none of them worked out. I did really like one quite a bit, but when I kept trying to make plans, she kept giving me the runaround, so I bailed.

    I've accepted the fact that she is not coming back, and even if she did, in my heart of hearts, I don't know what I would do. Leaving once was bad enough. If she came back & it didn't work out again...

    So yeah, she's on my mind. I'm the only one hanging on.

    Why does it always have to turn into a big debacle whenever I need to get medication refills? Its always a fucking hassle. Then of course the doctors office blames the pharmacy and the fucking pharmacy blames the doctors office. 7 days it took me to get 2 fucking prescriptions. WTF!

    Take me piece by piece.....
    Till there aint nothing left worth taking away from me.....

    I can't believe I only made it 14 days into the new year to use my one paid personal day. :lol: Now on to my vacation days!

    Incredibly sad. So excited for my 16 year old to go on this 7 week trip to Japan, but man, I have been a blubbering buffoon the last 24 hours. I don't know how common this is with other parents, but as much as I gained from being a parent, I feel kinda lost these days now that they are both mid to late teens. You go through such a long period of being their entire existence, and then one day you wake up, and you realize you're not. And one of them (not the one that left for Japan) hates you with all of their being at the drop of a hat, but then expects you to be best friends at all other times, not having a hot clue how emotionally abusive they are (I partially blame social media/phones and our inaction early enough to combat it). It's jarring. 

    I have kinda lost a big part of myself. I was just a parent for so long, who would occasionally do things for himself, but now, besides concerts, I don't even know what I like to do.

    That is awesome! For my job we can carry over 480 hours of vacation time to the next year. I was hired in early 2020. Since I barely used any vacation days in 2020 or 2021 due to Covid, I carried over quite a bit, and they keep accruing. I think right now I have about 11 weeks of unused vacation days. I am planning on taking about 2 weeks in the summer to travel, but more will have accrued by then.

    we're allowed to carry over a full year less a week. Our fiscal year is April to March, so if you're over that amount in January-ish, HR starts hounding you to take vacation or lose it.
