That seems believable. I haven't listened or subscribed to sirius in many years.nicknyr15 said:
He shit on podcasts for years and years and years.MayDay10 said:I dont know why Stern doesnt jump into podcasting. That seems to be right up his alley. No set schedule, 100% creative control, fresh, no pressure.
Sirius/satellite radio is the dying medium and he is attached to it. I guess he is happy getting all the bux.
But man, I think about if Howard would have been a bit younger at this point in tech and kicked off a lot of his Howard 100 vision in podcast form. He would have been able to monetize so much. I also wonder if he would still possess a little more fire for content creation at this point.
Podcasting and streaming isn't the future. it is here.0 -
The update is...there's no update lol.
Andy Cohen came on at 7AM, said he was taking over the channels, rebranding them Andy 100/101. It was a prank.
After 10 minutes, Stern came on, said he doesn't know if he's coming back. Said he's happy at Sirius and talks have gone well.
He was sick last week, which is why his return was pushed back.
Now I think he's staying. The drama is a way to drum up interest, buzz for the show. If he was leaving, he would have announced it and announced the beginning of a 4-month farewell tour etc..

And "more free time". So he'll be on the air even less. Absurd. He must be taking a huge paycut.
And there's no new appeal for him anymore because there are so many other outlets for major interviews. Aside from Oprah, only because he's been talking about her lately, and maybe the current POTUS, I don't know if there's an interview he could do that I'd absolutely have to listen to.May your days be long, til kingdom come.0 -

The interviews are really what made me stops tuning in as much. I have zero interest in celebrity interviews.0

Depends on who it is but I love his interviews.
The biggest hang up I have with the show now is just some of the stupid bits they do. Some of the phone calls, etc., are hilarious but a few are just not funny/stupid/too vulgar and they seem to replay those most often.
I'm fine with vulgarity if it's funny but sometimes they just go over the top.Remember the Thomas Nine !! (10/02/2018)

Most people do love the interviews. I hate them. It’s not him, it’s just the general idea of a celebrity interview. I have zero interest in most celebrities honestly and good musical guests are pretty rare.Gern Blansten said:Depends on who it is but I love his interviews.

And it's the same 10-15 people over and over. Used to listen to every episode in full but have barely tuned in since they came back from summer break. Howard and Robin not being in studio anymore has really killed the show. And people like Chris Wilding being on air constantly is just brutal.nicknyr15 said:The interviews are really what made me stops tuning in as much. I have zero interest in celebrity interviews.0 -

I had my fun with him eons ago. Last time I saw the pj interview. It was good. Could have been better if he included the whole band.0
