Now that Democrats secured these wins, it’s time for Leader Thune to keep his promise to schedule a vote on the ACA tax credits in December and we will see to it that he makes good on his word for the millions of Americans worried they won’t be able to afford health care in January.

If the GOP fucks around with it in December the situation will be much worse for them...I'm thinking (hoping) we're ok on this one at least

Yes. Republicans famously pay the price for bad faith actions.

Even King Centrist, Ezra Klein agrees this is dumb

“If I were in the Senate, I wouldn’t vote for this compromise. Shutdowns are an opportunity to make your arguments, and the country was just starting to pay attention. If Trump wanted to cancel flights over Thanksgiving rather than keep health care costs down, I don’t see why Democrats should save him from making his priorities so exquisitely clear. And I worry that Democrats have just taught Trump that they will fold under pressure. That’s the kind of lesson he remembers.”

But do it on a moral/greater vision stance, rather than a politically calculated one thats just 1 round in a 12 round fight

Uh, Ezra, did you read your paper? they get to do this again in two months and people get heat and food for the winter? Food til late  next year? Are you spending too much time in winter free LA?

That’s a good Hal trick, I miss his input the last day. So and so is a moderate and here is what he thinks!

if they were going to cave, why not do it a month ago? now it looks like the dems are the ones that made people suffer and got nothing out of it.

I'm on board with caving....but I do feel like Schumer should have come forward to make the case as to why. He was either completely ignored or completely ineffective. Or both.

The GOP was clearly not budging on the ACA and they were doing everything they could to avoid funding SNAP. How many fucking court orders are required to release the funds? They were trying to get the SC involved to delay further.

I think the dems did the right thing. Get people fed now. Don't create more chaos around the holidays for the poor children that need these benefits right now.

The GOP will have to own the ACA in December instead of whenever this shutdown was going to end....

It was a vascular fibrillation flare up that made him dizzy or made him faint, apparently.
