Democratic candidates in South Carolina fully flipped the Georgetown City Council, taking all the seats. In Orlando, Florida, voters booted the last GOP City Council member and voted in a Democrat.

First it was "dems only won in predictably blue regions". No, they didn't.
Now it's "those red regions they did win don't matter". Yes, they do.
And apparently "Hugh predicts a blue wave in red states in 2026". No, I didn't.

Get my quote right, my quote was “ Dems do well in dem places where they usually win, but lost in places they usually lose” is most specifically referring to the big story out of nyc, where the city result is virtually surrounded by a sea of red, and many of these places used to be competitive. The media only covered NYC and ignored the surrounding elections, so it’s worth discussing this biased coverage in a “political” forum.

all waves start with a trickle. As my post said, does that mean I predict a sweep in 2026? Absolutely not, but if you don't see the significance of blue wins at the micro level in heavy red regions, you just really, really, don't want to be wrong about your "dems can't/won't win elections" narrative. 

This election was about dems showing up in isolated areas in places they usually win. It’s great, but isolated.

and I started a thread about Nassau because Rs just annihilated dems there IN A PLACE TRUMP LOST TO CLINTON BY SIX. But that got completely ignored by the leftist media, so it’s extremely relevant to point out in places like this

And I also pointed out, Dems outperformed Biden in 2021- 2023 special elections by ten, and that meant nothing in 2024.

Im expressing an opinion based on a significant amount of evidence that this was an off off year election, in mostly blue regions the Dems did well, and per recent history, did not translate at all the congress or White House victories.

im gonna bet, without looking it up, that Nassau got more voters out than some GA PSC, whatever that is. But ok, let’s celebrate the PSC doing well. Doesn’t make my point false or a necessary balancing to the propoganda on places like MSNOW and repeated here.

Also I’ve said often the dems better or should win the House next year, but the senate is triple as important and I’ve well established how a long shot that’s becoming for Dems.

I’ll respond with forceful counterattack, so in hindsight we both look like we might be expressing a form of anger when that’s not necessary.
