A 40 year, storied career in Congress, rising to speaker in a job that you have to be elected to every two years is stupid? That’s news.
its hysterical watching the Dems do well in dem places where they usually win, but lost in places they usually lose …thinking an off year in isolated dem locations means something?
remember 2024 anyone here? All those special elections 2021-2023 for congress when Dems outran a Biden 2020 victory by over eleven points?
how’d that turn out in 2024??. I need to figure out how to do the popcorn meme.0 -

In Georgia, as The Associated Press reported: “Two Democrats romped to wins over Republican incumbents in elections to the Georgia Public Service Commission on Tuesday, delivering the largest statewide margins of victory by Democrats in more than 20 years.”In deep red Mississippi, Democrats broke a 13-year GOP supermajority in the state Senate, flipping two seats.
Democratic candidates in South Carolina fully flipped the Georgetown City Council, taking all the seats. In Orlando, Florida, voters booted the last GOP City Council member and voted in a Democrat.

South Carolina Mississippi Georgia any others you want to add?
Otherwise this is just off year nonsense when most voters didn't show up. It's great it happened but it's just as meaningful as all the special elections Democrats overperformed by 10 points from 2021 to 2023, which led to enormous Democratic victories in 2024, right?
Remember that?
Democrats got trounced in every New York suburb except reliably blue westchester. (ManDanny even lost in Staten island, and in the Big Blue Wave year in 2018 the Democrats won that congressional seat) . That's the big news item the media is not reporting.0 -

Get my quote right, my quote was “ Dems do well in dem places where they usually win, but lost in places they usually lose” is most specifically referring to the big story out of nyc, where the city result is virtually surrounded by a sea of red, and many of these places used to be competitive. The media only covered NYC and ignored the surrounding elections, so it’s worth discussing this biased coverage in a “political” forum.
and you reply with some examples of Georgia Public Service Commission and Georgetown City Council. Ha.What a joke. It’s become clear why y’all like socialism. If you are not capable of getting quotes correct, just put me on ignore.0 -

all waves start with a trickle. As my post said, does that mean I predict a sweep in 2026? Absolutely not, but if you don't see the significance of blue wins at the micro level in heavy red regions, you just really, really, don't want to be wrong about your "dems can't/won't win elections" narrative.Lerxst1992 said:HughFreakingDillon said:

and I started a thread about Nassau because Rs just annihilated dems there IN A PLACE TRUMP LOST TO CLINTON BY SIX. But that got completely ignored by the leftist media, so it’s extremely relevant to point out in places like this
And I also pointed out, Dems outperformed Biden in 2021- 2023 special elections by ten, and that meant nothing in 2024.
Im expressing an opinion based on a significant amount of evidence that this was an off off year election, in mostly blue regions the Dems did well, and per recent history, did not translate at all the congress or White House victories.
im gonna bet, without looking it up, that Nassau got more voters out than some GA PSC, whatever that is. But ok, let’s celebrate the PSC doing well. Doesn’t make my point false or a necessary balancing to the propoganda on places like MSNOW and repeated here. Also I’ve said often the dems better or should win the House next year, but the senate is triple as important and I’ve well established how a long shot that’s becoming for Dems.
your strategy is to take someone’s opinion, move it further right, and then pounce and mock it. I’ll respond with forceful counterattack, so in hindsight we both look like we might be expressing a form of anger when that’s not necessary. It’s a political opinion based on facts I am sharing on a mostly unchallenged sea of leftism, there is no need to mock that. Somehow Hal does it and it comes across more like an absurdist comedic mockumentary. Wassat?0 -

Nah. She did some good just ideologically 2017-2021.With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world. Be careful. Strive to be happy. ~ Desiderata0 -

Everyone left of right is the radical left in the US now, as we all know. It's fucking ludicrous. With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world. Be careful. Strive to be happy. ~ Desiderata0 -

That’s balanced reporting leading off with “Tuesday night's sweeping Democratic wins across the country.”josevolution said:Ok maybe Tuesday’s results weren’t earthshaking but Republicans did take notice some played it off like Mike Brown did and some like MTG said it’s def a moment to take notice of with a concerned look! https://www.newsweek.com/marjorie-taylor-greene-rips-into-republicans-after-democratic-election-wins-11000820
I guess they’re pretending the county where you used to work doesn’t exist. And all the other ny ones outside the city except westchester . And please spare the maga diatribe. You know full well the following Dems won full county executive and presidential elections there: Curran, suozzi, Hilary and Obama.
prove you can end the charade.
