Mike Johnson thinks Lee Greenwood would have been a better choice for the SB  These guys are so far up Trump's ass they have no independent thought.

You can tell he was hoping to be done with his little soundbyte but then the follow-up caught him on his heels.

c/p from The Hill adbook post...

House Speaker Mike Johnson said the Trump administration is seeking ways to pay the U.S. Capitol Police amid the ongoing shutdown.

“We’ve always stood with Capitol Police and law enforcement, and we’ve shown that in word and deed,” Johnson told reporters in the Capitol.

so true...I'm a season ticket holder to the Indy Fuel and EVERY FUCKING GAME they play that song and make any veterans and first responders stand up and we all clap, etc.

EVERY FUCKING GAME. It has become so meaningless it's ridiculous. I'm all for recognizing service (we have a few military nights a season....perfect for that) but it just makes it so fake especially when we have a Fri/Sat/Sun game and we suffer through the same exercise each time because the owner of the team is a fucking magat.

Same owner that made the former arena stop selling bud light a few years ago.

I’m all about giving vets their proper respect and honor. All of them, but especially those that went to war, and especially those debilitated by it. They should want for nothing as long as they’re alive.

The people that get pumped up by that song that haven’t served and haven’t been personally affected by military service …they’re basically LARPing clowns, and can fuck right off.

no. the media allowed all this to happen with favorable coverage and normalizing maga. but if this were biden they would point that out every day.

Also… nearly six in ten ACA Marketplace enrollees (57%) live in congressional districts represented by a Republican.

Also, Democrats introduced a provision extending the enhanced premium tax credits ahead of the government shutdown but Republicans blocked it.

Also… In the 10 most competitive districts in the last election (2024), the margin of victory was fewer than 6,000 votes. There are at least 27,000 ACA Marketplace enrollees in each of these districts.

this is one of the reasons i was predicting that trump will save the subsidies, not change anything else,  and call it trumpcare, because his supporters are the ones being hurt the most by this.

Yeah, maybe if he had any more elections in his future. But now that we're essentially post-election, he doesn't have to worry about this. Plus that's on CNN so nobody in Washington will believe it.

The magats are starting to get their letters now. My son received one over the weekend that mentions the potential premium increase without the subsidies being renewed.

wait, your son is a magat? sorry bro.

all kidding aside, how many of them will actually believe a letter from their insurance company? my bet is most of them will not notice it until a bill arrives.

I think most of them will pick up on it fairly quickly. What they won't do is make the connection between King Donald and their own situations.

so now we are at the "gladly paying more for insurance" phase of owning the libs.

    their commitment is pretty impressive.
