Luckily I didn't cough up the money to see Wrestlepalooza on the ESPN app. AEW All Out looked better.

I thought the ESPN deal started next year in January and Wrestlepalooza was a sneak preview on ESPN. But looks like Crown Jewel was on ESPN app and not on Peacock anymore. Guess I can cancel my Peacock subscription now.

not a bad idea. I already canceled my Peacock subscription. So I save like $10 a month. I think i have until the beginning of November until it's completely gone.

  • I watched the clips of the last minute or so and his exit, out of curiosity. I agree with those saying it was 100% right of him to go out on a loss. That's how most of the legends have done it, that's how all the legends should do it. Put over the next gen.

It was kind of odd how he was smiling when he tapped. Kind of made it tongue in cheek, instead of sticking to kayfabe. But either way. I guess that was his way of acknowledging it was his choice. Or knowing it was about to shock the fans. Not HHH forcing his hand.
Your boos mean nothing to me, for I have seen what makes you cheer

I get why it is kind of an industry tradition/mechanic, but having legends lose their last match so predictably is stupid and unnecessary in 2025.  That program that was probably widely watched successfully pushed several young talents without Cena stepping into the ring.  Cena fought against someone who is already over pretty well.

I also think back to Kurt Angle's last match, and did that guy ever get a chance to do anything after that?  What a waste.

There is so much media and airtime now, it is not necessary for legends to go out losing to the new guard.  Cena could have had a feud with Gunther for a month, Gunther to get a huge push to come out on top a bunch of times as a heel, only for Cena to win his last match and break that kind of outdated tradition.  Have some other legends come out and help him, maybe a few "heel" legends help Gunther.  Could have been a party.

If Triple H had a legends/retirement match you sure as shit know he would buck the trend of the retiree not going out on a loss.

Baron Corbin? No, WWE didn't use him well which is a shame, He left WWE a few years ago and is now in the indies somewhere

yeah, people talk about wrestling just like they'd talk about game of thrones. storylines, etc. But it's not "fake". It's scripted and well rehearsed. These guys get real injuries that have real consequences.
