    Maybe my memory is a little hazy.  But I thought Backspacer (the turtle) was something they tracked in advance of its journey, and when it completed its journey announced the album.  I took your post as they have previously hinted at something (the turtle) that become music related (the album).
    I was a bit tongue in cheek with the 'big, bold and free' that they hinted at but never came to fruition to say dont always take this hints as something is coming.
