Saw them last night for the first time. They were great on the songs I knew but the last couple decades of stuff was almost unbearable for me. Mostly just of bunch of noise with no discernable melodies.

  • Just saw them live. $7 at the amusment park here in town. Their set dressing matcher the venue.

Great fun show. Billy a bit sloppy with the singing.

New mix of Machina is great. I really wish this was the mix they used back in 2000.

I got the big box set. But this sounds so good, I got the 2LP set as well despite having the OP.

I'm meh on the remixes so far. I'm going to do a deep dive into both album versions.

So much fuzz was taken off that things sound newly recorded, especially the vocals.

I didn't necessarily think anything was wrong w/the original.

Should have kept the AOI fade-in, and it absolutely should have stayed as the last track.

And fortunately he didn't make wholesale changed to SIYL or I would have flown to Chicago to fight him lol.

I still might for not releasing M2 to streaming. Hopefully it comes soon. Properly mixed versions of Real Love and Home would be amazing.

An odd birthday present for me from Billy lol:

    A Private Requiem

In the brisk and heady Autumn, ZERO appeared without warning as mirror, wound, joke, threat, prayer and then, a reflection in glass.

Countless souls understood. Countless others did not, and yet, the lonely kept him alive far longer and into some greater influence than anyone might have intended. For that, we know ZERO and those who loved him are grateful.

A private requiem with The Smashing Pumpkins will be observed this Sunday at 5pm PT

You are welcome to witness and from a distance at https://www.youtube.com/smashingpumpkins

Billy's alter ego Zero was buried last night, then they announced a Mellon Collie 30th anniversary tour...even though it came out 31 years ago lol. They played a short set afterwards.

He said years ago that he had to change the way he sings, otherwise he wouldn't be able to sing anymore, so I get the new vocal inflections and quirks, but last night he sounded terrible. Way, way off key a bunch of times. I don't know if he wasn't wearing an IEM or if he just didn't care, but it was bad.

Billy is difficult to take most times for me. I love the original albums before the break. But I haven’t really liked anything a lot since Oceania and Monuments to an Elegy.

    I really like Oceania though.

I saw them on the Green Day tour a year or so ago, and it was good, but I’m not sure I’ll travel for this tour.

I saw them in Vancouver a few years back, and even though he was sick, it was a pretty good and fun show.

Unfortunately I think I'm skipping the new tour.   Mostly because it's a Thursday, so it means money on tickets, hotel, and missing work to get there.  Last time it was on a Stat holiday, which was great

I saw the original Melon Collie tour and it was pretty good.  If they did a Siamese Dream tour, I'd play hooky to go to that :)

    Absolutely.
When they played the Garden (Boston, the real Garden) in 2018, I nabbed a front row ticket midafternoon the day of the show at face, which at the time was $165.90 and a tad expensive in that market. Would be a bargain now. That's the price for a reasonable but not great lower this time around.
I suspect there will be a lot of unsold tix and hopefully they can dynamically lower the prices some.

They had Janes last time and tickets were plentiful. I'd be shocked if they were even 75% sold by this time next week.

I will never pay to see this band indoors again. They are so much better at an outdoor venue, where the sound doesn’t get so muddy. The last time I saw them in an arena, I left half way through their set, the sound was sooo bad. Then I saw them about a year later at an amphitheater, and it was a 100% better. Just my 2 cents.

I'm the opposite, the one time I saw them outdoors, it was fine (Adore tour).

Anytime they were indoors was great.

I'm waiting until I see the setlists before attending.
