on the plus side, Nola and Bohm have been activated from the IL at least and are starting today.

Why the hell did today's game start so damn early? Also why the hell is it on Roku TV? Pearl-Jam-Smileys

Nola looked good for the first two innings, then he went back to his "old self". Least Bohm played well and we split the series. Could have been better, could have been worse

So this project 25 maga economic hack who Trump nominated to lead the bls and cook up some good numbers grew up in my neighborhood. His parents still live here. House is directly behind me.....and coincidentally enough, is adored with the same weirdo maga stuff you would associate with someone being at the capitol on 1/6.

I've always thought they were weirdos and took pictures of all their dumb signs and flags while walking my dog past their house back in 2020. At one point the number of signs and flags got up to 13! They still have a maga flag draped on the side of their garage with red, white and blue christmas lights around it AND a fucking spotlight shining on it every fucking night. I think he's flown some version of a maga flag non stop for the last 10 years.

I know it's his parents, but there's pictures and videos of this guy on 1/6. The apple doesn't fall far from the tree. I don't know what it means if he gets confirmed. We're basically turning into Communist China. Can't believe anything our government says.

    Go Phils.

    The guy is a J6er.

EDIT: sorry,I see you brought this up. And what it means is clearly what it means. The only hope is they're too lazy and stupid to pull it all off. Other than that, welcome to the next oligarchy and late-stage Capitalism with the fall of democracy. I would love to say that sounds dramatic, but it absolutely is not lol

Like I always say - anything the Republicans do is either a confession or projection.

I'm just indignant at this point. The first time around, I was like "hey, let me meet you in the middle, let's talk."

Now I'm of the mind that - especially if you voted for him three times - you are an absolute traitor to the country. I hope all the pain comes for all the people that wanted a referendum through this fuck and any other Republican politican, like they're good for anything.

What's happening on the state level with SEPTA is fucking atrocious btw.

Anyway, I said what I said: hate The Rabe, always will hate The Rabe. Give me garlic drenched spinach greens any day of the week over it.
Yeah. He's accusing DC of manipulating their crime numbers today. As soon as I saw that, I just assumed "well okay, that is precisely what he is about to do now."

Oh and  today he's also complaining about the Smithsonian being too tough on fucking slavery.

We're really fucked. I just can't get over how there is bad news being delivered every hour of every day, over and over and over and over and over again. A never ending cycle of dread. maga!

Went to Smithsonian museums last week with family.  Glad we got to see what shit is intended to look like prior to black and Jewish people being marginalized, even in their deaths.

    Fucking hell

Went to the Phillies game last night. That was a fun game. Apparently that was the first time since the pandemic I was at a game. I could had sworn I went to a game a few years ago, but no (last one was in 2018). Great seats (sec. 131). Saw a Schwarbomb, Durantula's entrance (which was awesome) and Realmuto's go ahead homer in the 8th. Sanchez pitched great. I thought the reliever after him pitched horrible cause he walked the first two batters on 8 pitches but someone mentioned at the game that the umpire blew like half the calls. Also saw Milt Thompson walk right past me while I was sitting. Took this pic of Schwarber right before he hit his homerun (thought I got the actually swing but missed by like a second I guess)

Yes Kerkering got squeezed on a few pitches.

And call me crazy but I will already say Duran is the best closer the Phillies have ever had.  He’s unbelievable. And to get him for two prospects only and have multiple years for him was a complete steal by Dombrowski.

Phillies are up 8-2. The dreaded 6-run lead. #JordanRomano

Turner just got to 1,500 hits. 4 more today. Someday he might get to 3,000. Maybe the end of September. #NotAnAllStar

Anyone ever take kids for the run the bases deal? We're going on Sunday. Never done it, but based on Reddit sounds like you have to line up starting in the 7th inning if you don't want to be left out lol

On a related note, Kids Clubs memberships are sold out for 2025. Bookmarking this for next year...

You know how the 1B umpire blows calls and then they go to replay and get it right and basically everyone is satisfied? That is good.

When I coach kids basketball I'm actually really good about being friendly with the refs - shocking I know.

No but wanted to do that.  Let us know how it goes.
We did the "autograph day" where you are on the field before the game, all spread around the stadium/ warning track, and the players come around and sign for the kids.  When we raised our nephew it was 2 years in a row when we just happened to pick games when this was taking place.  Always went early....he was 9 or 10 I think and loved autographs so we would get them anyway.
He loved it and most of the players were great to interact with the kids.
This was 10 or so years ago, not sure if they still do it.
The love he receives is the love that is saved
