There are three tiny toilets that…have a sink attached to it, so…they get their drinking water and they brush their teeth where they poop, in the same unit." Nine hundred men are currently in the facility.
Jose I am used to this, nothing new to me. Below is a typical combi unit. This is the uproar. Below that is a toilet right next to a sink in a house that is typical for millions of people... Imagine people at home brushing their teeth where they poop...
It's a bullshit uproar.
I still think the administration is going to get sued to the teeth for how they are apprehending people. They did this in NY a few years back and the counties paid out millions.prison cell holds no more than 2.how many are in these chain link cells at one time? not to mention no walls at all for some modicum of privacy.
Holding cell and prison cell are two different things but they both will have this same combi unit.
Is your sink next to your toilet?county workhouse cell I was in , the separate toilet, next to the sink , was behind a wall , 4 ft high.holding tanks had no facilities.
So is your toilet in your house next to your sink like most houses have?
did I make that argument against? hmmm?my concern with that facility in particular and I expect it will be the same with the rest of them that will be built, is this was done extremely cheaply. blatant grift. They claim its rated to a Cat2 hurricane. I call bullshit on its face.health problems from the garuanteed insect bites, sure to come. reporting says lights on 24/7. assume l.e.d , so overall conditions detrimental to mental health.lack of congressional oversight. both the turn a blind eye by the sycophants of fuckstick and the denial of those opposing legal right to entry at will.then theres the reported probable damage to the ecosysyem that will be done.
What I am getting at is they were using the same thing pretty much here in NY.
I still think they get the balls sued off of them.
Environmental impact? If the people can't leave the facility and only stay on the grounds the ecosystem should stay in tact no?0 -

Tim Simmons said:it comes across as just the weirdest of bitternessIf that’s what you call fighting against the extremist direction of the party after a horrible loss, in a direction that’s never proven itself (especially in the places Dems have been losing ground the last ten years), within a sea of blind loyalist bias, so be it0

Lol ever heard of the New Deal? Very popular socialist policies that were beloved for years until they were distorted as bad by am radio, neoliberalism and Milton freedmanites. When the types of policies that progressives propose are put into effect they are very popular, the problem has always been misinformation and gate keeping.Scio me nihil scire

Tim Simmons said:With ai, it’s very easy to understand why this fails so often. But y’all continue to laugh at Hal’s absurd partisan buffooneryAI OverviewThis observation—that certain Democratic policies might be popular with voters but fail to translate into widespread support for the party as a whole—is a complex and debated topic. Here's an analysis of potential reasons:
- Messaging and communication issues:
- Democrats are sometimes perceived as using language that is too academic, vague, or overly focused on "political correctness," making it difficult for some voters, particularly working-class individuals, to connect with the party's message.
- There is also concern within the party about a lack of a clear, coherent message, with some believing there's too much focus on individual issues rather than a unifying theme, according to The New York Times.
- Perceived disconnect from economic concerns:
- Some voters feel Democrats are overly focused on cultural and social issues while not adequately addressing economic concerns like jobs, wages, and inflation that are paramount to everyday people.
- Voters who supported former President Trump, for example, hoped he would lower prices and make their lives easier, highlighting a potential missed opportunity for Democrats to connect on these issues, notes The New York Times.
- Overemphasis on identity politics:
- Some working-class voters feel Democrats prioritize niche, identity-based groups, which can make them feel excluded rather than included in the party's broad message.
- "Faculty lounge" problem:
- Democrats are sometimes seen as judgmental, out-of-touch, and dismissive of individuals without elite education or progressive views, creating a perception of disconnect from mainstream voters.
- Perception of being unresponsive to voters or compromising too easily:
- Some Democrats feel the party isn't aggressively fighting for their interests, particularly in the face of strong opposition, according to NBC News.
- Attachment to potentially unpopular institutions or figures:
- While not explicitly stated as a cause of disconnect, the public's general dissatisfaction with both major parties is significant, with a quarter of Americans feeling neither party represents their interests, according to the Pew Research Center.
- Additionally, both parties are viewed unfavorably by majorities of Americans.
Important considerations- Complexity of voter motivations: Voters are complex and can be influenced by a myriad of factors beyond a party's policy positions. Personal values, cultural connections, and perceptions of leadership all play a role in shaping voter preferences.
- Partisan polarization: The increasing partisan polarization in the United States makes it challenging for voters to see common ground or even understand the motivations of those on the "other side," according to the Pew Research Center.
- Effectiveness of "culture war" issues: While some argue that focusing on progressive social issues can be a disadvantage in certain contexts, others maintain that the debate is more nuanced, suggesting that the party's image might be impacting how these policies are perceived, rather than the policies themselves being inherently unpopular.
