I am going to say Coady Willis. He has been in Murder City Devils, Big Business, Melvins, and High on Fire. He could bring some heavy energy to the band.

Folks there’s zero chance they get a drummer to be full time member not at this juncture! Stand in drummer ok but not permanent this band is looking to wind it down.

I agree, it’s hard to imagine them hiring someone full time. But honestly, who knows?

If this was 10 years ago I’d think differently!
Yes, agreed

I would guess they name a full time drummer before they announce a new leg of shows. They’ve always been a 5 member band. It has more appeal to have a “full time” drummer than just a touring fill-in. Because they are winding down and already have over 30 years of experience, whoever it is will probably receive a smaller percentage of band ownership than Matt had. Especially since there are a list of drummers we’d want to see. I’m sure most, if not all, would be more than happy to play 10-15 times a year for a couple hundred thousand a night.
I just heard that in the car as well! He sounded great!
My pick is Matt Chamberlin, but I hope they can find someone that they click with musically and enjoy being around. And someone who can learn all the songs!

My pick is still Josh Freese...they can't just replace Matt with anybody...being a drummer myself I'm picky as hell when it comes to replacing drummers in my favourite bands...there aren't many drummers that are better and more kick-ass than Josh...none in rock n' roll...

Plus I read somewhere that Josh was considered as a replacement for Dave A back in the days...🤔
Chad Smith - Yeah, I get he is in the RHCPs. However, has a very long history with the guys, toured with Ed during the Earthlings tour and is very tight with Watt... Just putting it all together. That is my pick and that would be awesome.
If I were Eddie Vedder, would you like me any better? - Local H

I saw Big Business open for Tool back in 2007 in Montreal. Coady was incredible!
