It's a girl! Doing 1 of 4 things while sunning herself:
    Laying eggs
    Resting after laying eggs
Going back to water after laying eggs
    Finding spot to lay eggs

Good spoting and watch out for turtles crossing the street.
If you see one in the road and are very careful, move it the other side of the road in the direction it's facing.

Big ol snapper, can grab it by the tail and hold it far away from you.

(Not recommended) but I've done it before and have all 10 fingers. It will hiss and snap at you!

We used to fish for carp as kids and catch monster snappers. We had one 'scarface' we'd catch often. Missing one eye and a gash along its head. Would catch them. Bring them up to the bridge we were fishing off, harass it for a while, throw it back. It would come right back to eat our bait again! Talking easy 24" diameter.

    Ahh the good old days.

    Ok bye

Rabbit babies all over my yard, they have been nesting for years… I do not disturb their lil home when I do yard work… had a stressful work morning, seeing them in the rain mist made things better. Love animals

Ticks galore here. Big ones so not worried about them. Just gross and don't want to get bitten. Spare you all the pictures.

I love turtles and tortoises!  Seems to me I read somewhere that only turtles have that zigzag back end of their shell and not tortoises.  Any idea if that's true?

Helped a painted turtle climb over a curb yesterday. Keep your eyes peeled when driving.

I don’t know but this one has come 4 years in a row to lay eggs. 4 years ago she somehow got past my aluminum fence and got stuck and had to keep my dogs inside for a couple days to figure a way to take care of her. We brought her across the street to a nature preserve and after I took this photo she found her way over….although I had to stop traffic to make sure she got there.

Close call. They will eat cat food if you leave it outside. We had outside cats as kids and all sorts of critters came on by. Pretty sure someone in my house got sprayed.
