road adjacent to osu airport.... marshy wetland area. think he was just sunning himself. almost as big as a dinner plate.
It's a girl! Doing 1 of 4 things while sunning herself: Laying eggs Resting after laying eggs Going back to water after laying eggs Finding spot to lay eggs
Good spoting and watch out for turtles crossing the street. If you see one in the road and are very careful, move it the other side of the road in the direction it's facing.
Big ol snapper, can grab it by the tail and hold it far away from you.
(Not recommended) but I've done it before and have all 10 fingers. It will hiss and snap at you!
We used to fish for carp as kids and catch monster snappers. We had one 'scarface' we'd catch often. Missing one eye and a gash along its head. Would catch them. Bring them up to the bridge we were fishing off, harass it for a while, throw it back. It would come right back to eat our bait again! Talking easy 24" diameter.
