What song has the best lyrics?

One of the best songs i think that has been wrote by eddie would be Alive because It has extra meaning to me because I learned who my real dad was when I was 13 and at the time the doctors told me he had cancer. I liked Pearl jam and I Knew the song but when I learned all this About my dad the words fit into place.

Stone-Thin Air (My song to my Girl)

Did Jeff write Nothing as it seems?
I Wish I was as Fortunate as Fortunate as Tennesse....

wow - how hard is that to peg down!!!

i love sleight of hand and in my tree

present tense is like that great story you read
to your kids - it's so beautiful, a life lesson

i can't just leave it at three - pretty well all the
songs have some special meaning to me, they've
all captured a moment in my life or something that
somebody I know has gone through

well - ok - maybe not lukin, but I do live
close to scarborough so give it time
(bad canadian reference but what the heck)

    bummer on the snow......

was it a lot or just enough to say it snowed?
  • I have had to choose 5 songs, which took some doing!

However I have gone for the following:

Smile - This song shows that people can have an immense impact on your life, but as we all realise we dont figure this until we loose our loved ones. Also that when you do loose a loved one you can look back on the good times and 'SMILE'. Eddie really came good with this track.

Cant Keep - Goes to show we have no power over our time on this life, we should live it to the maximum and enjoy ourselves. I think this track came about due to 9/11, Vedder is really reflective on here about life and how we are really just here as part of a cycle. But enjoy it while you are here.

Wishlist - Really simple track but it really hit me, we all have gone through this when we think we have seen the girl/guy of our dreams but no it will never come true. And you do wish you were something else to get closer to that person.

Black - What can be said about this song that has'nt already been mentioned a thousand times before. Awsome.

In My Tree- this represents the mind, place we all can go to and be ourselves, you know! To escape the mad world, sit back reflect on life or whatever. Or in my case when you play music on your headphones and I go into another world of dreams and escaping stresful thoughts etc.

Well thats my choice, out of note the following just missed out:

    I Got Shit
    NothingMan
    Present Tense
    1/2 Full
    Long Road
    Oceans
    Who You Are
    Somtimes i know, sometimes i rise,sometimes i fall,sometimes i dont,sometimes i cringe,somtimes i live sometimes i walk,sometimes i kneel,somtimes i speek of nothing at all,sometimes i reach to myself dear god

  • I wish that I could pick one song that has the best lyrics, but I find it impossible. I have a few favorites though.
    Black
    Elderly Woman
    Given to Fly
    Nothingman
    In my Tree
    Present Tense
    Save You
    Sleight of Hand
    etc....
the list goes on and on!
    Heather
know a man, his face seems pulled and tense
like he's riding on a motorbike in the strongest winds - "Off He Goes"
  • I would have to say that the following are some of the best, lyrically:
    corduroy
    satan's bed
    sleight of hand
    porch
and ive been into "untitled" lately
    Spin the Black Circle!

But there are to many songs that i can relate to. Anything from Eddie is fine by me.

i too can relate to this.whether it's in the same way you do..who knows?believe it or not, this song helped unblock memories i wish had stayed hidden..i'm having trouble dealing with the consequences of this new found knowledge..i can't speak it..so i write..in my journal,i tell all..to other people,i hint..not good for me i know but that's how i was raised..the good old f---ing british stiff upper lip.....
    "heaven doesn't want me
and hell's afraid i'll take over"

    fear of death is gain

scratching the walls of my glass coffin, scraping, raping my nails on the glass on the bottom..is there no end? when will this end? if i was u, i'd fucking hate me too

    how 'bout arc?! heh.

yeah, what they said... how do you pick just one? or 30? depends on what strikes a chord within each of us. or just something beautiful and amazing that moves you. or just makes you break into a sh*t-eating grin and scream, "i love this f*cking band!"

love: thin air. how to be happy and true, is the quest we're taking on together

loss: thumbing my way. if there was a key you took it in your hand. there's no wrong or right, but i know there's good and bad, the questions linger overhead

disillusionment: sleight of hand. he found himself staring down at his own hands. not remembering the change, not recalling the plan. was it...?

joy: faithful. like echoes nobody hears, it goes, it goes, it goes like this: we're faithful, we all believe

futility: i'm open. after spending half his life searching he still felt as blank as the ceiling at which he stared. he is alive, but feels absolutely nothing. so is he?

confidence: driftin'. my road it may be lonely, just because it's not paved it's good for driftin', driftin' away

hope: in my tree. my eyes peeled both wide open, and i got a glimpse, of my innocence. got back my innocence. still got it. still got it

disgust, coupled with pity: soon forget (for me this one's a kind of a f*ck you to an ex, who lost himself) sorry is the fool who trades his love for high-rise rent. seems the more you make equals the loneliness you get

hahahhahahahaha: olympic platinum. i will get up. and i will win. i will win my, my olympic dream

and just because i really like this part: push me pull me. i've had enough. fair enough. felt enough, i'm fine now. see ya later.

well, i guess pretty much everything makes me scream, i love this f*cking band! 'cause i really, really do. really.

So that is how I learned the lesson that everyone is alone. And your eyes must do some raining if you are ever going to grow. But when crying don't help and you can't compose yourself. It is best to compose a poem, an honest longing or simple song of hope.
    That is why I'm singing

I think I am gonna cast my vote for Garden and Release. They are similar in tone and message in my opinion.

a song off of "lost dogs" titled "dismisal"

    How good is he? how worn are his eyes, you'll see its not a reprise;
that he arrives, too late and to tethered away to put on his and his tie.
How good is he? how warm is his hard earned ego telling him which place to park. that he relays, the message is clearly, hardly grounds for dissmisal i write
