Requiem for a Dream had a great score. Also, its such an intense movie and the music makes it even more.

    Weeee got a winner!

Probably one of the hardest to watch films I've ever seen. There's intense and then there's Requiem for a Dream intense!

Jerry Goldsmith is clearly my favourite composer for movie scores
(and fifteen years later in this shocking short threat now)

Let’s add to the thread. I loved the Oppenheimer score. Ludwig is great!

I’ll add in a few which haven’t been mentioned:
    Gattaca- Michael Nyman
The Theory of Everything - Jóhann Jóhannsson
    Interstellar - Hans Zimmer
Last of the Mohicans - Trevor Jones and Randy Edelman
I’m also a big fan of Max Richter. “On the Nature of Daylight” has been used in many films and series.

Once Upon A Time In The West, or any film with Ennio Morricone's name on it.
Damn just this morning I looked up this sound track was listening to it really good! He scored most of the spaghetti westerns
