PLEA TO THE BAND: Change the ticketing process next tour
in The Porch
We are one of the most passionate fan bases in the world. And we are getting screwed by Ticketmaster decades after you tried, and unfortunately failed, to change the ticket industry. But here's the thing, you tried when other's didn't! It's time to bring that passion back and help the current fans. Look at Robert Smith of The Cure for example, he made a difference because he used his voice. Please, we are begging you, help us get tix, and help us get face value tix, for the next tour!
What can you do to help:
1) Do not allow Premium tickets. Ten Club members are missing out on tickets, usually great seats, and typically cannot afford the astronomical markups.
2) Allow transfers. I do not want to gamble with posting a link. Let us get the tickets directly into the hands of our friends or actual PJ fans, instead of bots or scalpers.
3) Ask Ticketmaster to reduce their "convenience" fees on your tickets. The Cure was successful in this and I am sure you would be too.
If things remain the same, ten club members will be incentivized to put in requests for every show of a tour, whether we plan on actually attending or not. We will also lose countless hours trying to find affordable tickets which have a decent view.
Thanks for your consideration. I am sure other fans will have additional recommendations.

For lotto tickets it should be transfers only to 10cers who did not win 10c tickets to the show to maximize fan access or else you encourage upgraders interfering with fans who lost out in the lotto.
As it is right now, getting F2F tickets to actual fans is a mess. Part of this is on us, as so many people are just sloppy with releasing tickets. It hurts to watch so many premium tickets (not PJ premium, stop that shit too) be just thrown away to bots and scalpers. I wish those GA, and top section tickets had to filter back through 10c before being released again. Give people a window to repurchase those tix or go through a second lottery for those who didn’t get tickets the first time.

1) with a sizable chunk of the audience being fan club or fan club adjacent, most transfers will be much more likely to be “legit” face value transfers;
2) the present system shifts the risk of scalping among individuals to the guarantee of scalping amongst bots and third party venders. Pick your poison, but if you allow transfers, it decreases the risk of scalping, or at the very least, spreads the scalping around and thereby shifts a chunk of it away from the bots and third party venders; and finally
3) by allowing for transfers, you get a true “market value” established theoretically, because why pay PJ Premium prices (which didn’t appear to be selling anyway) when you could take the chance of finding a seller in a different way for much closer to fair market value. The PJ premium prices were presumably established based on some market algorithm that only TM knew.

I'm 100% with you on your other points. Allowing transfers opens the floodgates to scalping. There is no way to enforce transferring someone a ticket (via transfer) and charging them thousands of dollars via paypal venmo cast etc
